Hi Christine,

Thanks for your considered response. Luna is in perfect health and is a very happy intelligent dog, full of life. We couldn't be happier. She's two years old this month and still a little on the small side and we're still waiting for her to have her first season. She may have had one that we hadn't noticed tbh. The size thing doesn't bother us in the slightest, my original post was really just out of curiosity.

She's very active, which suits us as a family, and she's constantly turning heads and receiving compliments and making new friends.

Luna is very pretty and appears to be in good condition. One of my girls is VERY active. I feed her 2 to 3 cups of food twice a day in the summer and 2 to 2.25 cups in winter. My other girl is happy to lay around the house all day. She eats 1.25 cups twice daily. Huge difference between the two (they are only 4 months apart in age.) My trouble was getting her to eat because she just wants to chase birds and butterflies all day. ;) So, we add a bit of bacon fat to her meals. Not much, just a…

Not much, just a few drops to add to the aroma to encourage her to eat. I used to worry a lot about her when she was about the same age as your Luna but her coat was shiny and her eyes were bright. The vet told us she wished that EVERY dog that graced her doors was in as great condition as she is. As long as your vet isn't concerned, Luna appears healthy in all other ways and she continues to be active I wouldn't worry. However, don't hesitate to add .25 cups of food to each meal and reduce if she starts to get a bit paunchy. If her ribs are sticking out I would be a bit concerned, but from the photos she looks awesome! Once her ribs spring a bit more as she matures you will feel better. She is still young.

EDIT: Sorry, I just realized this post is old. Hopefully Luna remains healthy and beautiful. :)

Luna is beautiful!
