Exclusively Setters

Congratulations to Marc Ruymbeke, whose Ch and Int Ch Dalriach Garryowen won a field trial in Ireland today, making him the first show champion setter to win a field trial in Ireland for over 25 years. Garryowen's son Deargban The Long Fella also went through to the second round, so a very good day for Marc.
The last setter sh ch to win a field trial in Ireland was another IRWS Knockane Sherry , owned by Terry O'Leary, in the early nineteen eighties

Marc's dog Fionn (Dalriach Garryowen) is the brother of Catch (Dalriach Goshawk), the sire of Skadi.
There are some good dogs behind them. Pepperstown Polly, Rushfield Rascal. Kestrel of Cherryfield, Bawnrhu Smart Fella , and back to Ben of Sugarloaf, who was behind more of the dogs in Norway and Sweden

It is nice to see that Sh Ch also can do it well in FT, Were did they trial, was it Highland, Open Class? How has the other IRWS done it this year in the different trials?

It was the English Setter Club of Ireland Novice Stake.
Craigrua Osprey has been doing very well in Irish field trials this year, several wins I think

Merete, You can find reports on some Irish field trials at this website

http://glencuanpointers.wordpress.com/trial-reports/

It is Des O'Neile's website, he lives in N.Ireland so he reports on more trials from N.Ireland but he does it very well with results. He also has a very good blog site, Glencuan Pointers, more about his own dogs
