First hunting trip for the year 2008

Actually today the 17th of January the polar night ends here in Finnish Lapland. But these pictures are from sunday the 13th of January. The weather was brilliant, just a few minus degrees(-3) light wind and a hint of snowflakes came down. We found grouses well, every dog expcept our youngest was working beautifully. Stood on point perfectly, flushed the birds with perfection and we did shoot some birdies down ;)

Our youngest, the english setter, was making progress though and he showed… Continue

Still alive!

Time flies when having fun :) hehe. Well, we have been busy with household (2 kids: 2 years and 6 months) and also the very last shows for 2007. Not a big success but fun time, yes! Just updated the profile photo and noticed that "wow, the little D is not so little anymore..." grown up man, should I say.

This year will start with no more shows for Dennis for awhile, hope his coat is not getting the most worst condition... he is doing some field training now!

Well, main… Continue

The birthday girl Danka...

As mentioned in the earlier blog post, my "little" girl turned 3 years today. Oh, how time flies... Was it already almost 3 years ago that we flew in to Hungary? That Odin hated her like hell? That she was not listening to me at all? :) So many things happened during these years and I am soooo happy that I have her - and Odin too!! Thanks Camilla for this wild but oh-so-smart girl!…

Annie's Happy New Year

Hello everyone,

I had a great holiday and New Year's celebration. I received lots of toys and Kongs. My good friend Porche, a German short-hair, gave me a ball Kong that a liver paste is squirted into it. My sister (a creature named Michelle) has taught me to "high five", "shake hands", "down". Michelle is always fun to be with! She leaves for school today, now I have to sleep on my own bed!

My creatures took me to Sun Valley for New Years, they cross-country skied. They said… Continue

Glen and I made it into the local press...

This lovely picture of Glen (and me...) appeared in the local newspaper last saturday. During a training session in the woods for 'search and rescue' I found an old coin or amulett with an engraving of St. George on one side and Jesus in a sailing ship on the other. The inscription said 'In Tempestate Securitas' (roughly: safety in the storm) Not knowing what to do with it I sent it to the local press. They did some research and said it was a 'St.… Continue

The Black irish Setter

A very good friend has been taking my little Labrador Tara to the beach recently. We did think it was time for her to go, but the beach trips have helped her arthritis and also her ear cancer, so she has been enjoying life again.

Any way on this last beach trip Tara, who has trouble walking most days, took off like a bat out of hell. When I caught up with her, she was sitting down looking very disgruntled. Running along the beach with all the joy of living that is such a characteristic of… Continue

KAJAANI international

We had quite a nice time in cold cold Kajaani - for showing and agility.

Our little kids Original Gigglin Glenda went BOB puppy and her brother Original Game O`Chance went BOS puppy.

In open class males our Original Blitzkrieg Bop went for CAC and

res-CACIB. And his little bro took the res-CAC after him - Ch Original

Charmin Camelot.

But the nicest results we got in Agility.

My Ami (almost in veteran age, turning 8yrs this April) did a clear… Continue

NEIVEN - new irish setters kennel

A few days ago I got a letter. In site was an information that my kennel name is registered in FCI ;) (FCI Number 1427/07)

We'll never have many litters born in our kennel but we would really like all the puppies born here to be the result of well thought over

matings which will serve the breed in Poland well. We are rather

interested in the quality of our litters not their quantity.

We would like our puppies to be not only show winners but above of all nice and… Continue
