Do most Irish setters or Red setters dig for moles,voles, and gophers etc.. My Red gets this stance over the ground, ears down etc., and then he starts to dig. We are working to rid our yard of the various critters. Is this a typical description of a setter hunting for animals that live underground?  

In this year our boys started the show season separately.

After a week of waiting and wondering, we finally found out why Romã was complaining about her left leg for the past week. We decided to redo her HD test, just to be sure... And there it was!

Romã's hips progressed from an A to a D on the left side - we think this must be due to a compensating mechanism, to avoid pain on her left arm (the one she broke as a pup). There is a lot of destruction in that hip, and we are all amazed how she managed to go for so long without giving us any…

Since our local television visted us to film a portrait of the Irish Setter, Scott thinks he's a star and has all the caprice of a starlet; Last Sunday Scott wanted to see if the grass was truly greener on the other side of the fence, and I don't know how, as our fence is rather solid and high. But pass to the neighbours he did;  Once I'd recuperated Scott I of course inspected him to see there was no damage, and I discovered a huge hole on his side where he'd ripped a large piece of skin…
