MISTY (Graylors Blue Aurora) 26.07.2011 - 29.01.2023

My precious English Setter girl, Misty passed away unexpectedly at 3:30am today. The only consolation is that I was holding Misty, reassuring her and telling her how much I loved her when her heart rate slowed and she took her final breath, so she was…

Mizen Alanna 01.06.12 to 02.01.23

Alanna passed away in Huntly on Monday 2nd of January, she had been suffering with aggressive mast cell tumours under the skin around her shoulders and the back of the neck for the past year and had endured three major operations. I devoted this entire time to her care and am simply heartbroken over her loss, just ten and a half…

Meet Gracy!

This ist Gracy, four weeks old. She is the great-grand-niece of our beloved Joy, who died last December.

Good bye, my love...

Joy 24.04.08 - 07.12.21

Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our beloved Joy yesterday - we are devastated! Her diarrhea came back and we cared and cooked for her and once more and she started eating again and was doing fine. We went on our old rounds and were all happy, but then she was restless last Sunday night and did not want to eat…

Joy is 13.5 today!!

Defying the odds, our lovely bundle of fur called Joy is still with us! She is in need of much care now and since a few weeks, she's getting a bit slow and weaker on her hind legs. We were however given a lovely summer with many short walks in the Alps and whenever she got tired, she could ride in a dog trailer. She is always thirsty due to…

Bailey Jo

Hello All,

This last year has been a roller coaster for so many of us. Early April, 2020 we suddenly lost our beautiful Miss Molly to an inoperable cancer of the spleen when she was almost 12. Miss Molly truly rescued us all those years ago and filled each day with love and laughter. We miss her so much but treasure all the love and memories we carry in our hearts....she made sure we had an overflowing heart full of her love.

Three weeks later the lady who never checks her…

Happy 13th Birthday Joy!!!

Happy 13th Birthday, darling Joy!! You made it!!! When you collapsed onto our living room floor just before New Year, we thought, that was it... we rushed you to the clinic at half past ten that night and fought for your life. The diagnosis was devastating: Severe heart deficiency, arrhythmia, partial fibrillation and and - plus lung edema,…

It seems very quiet on here so I just thought I'd pop a picture up of the Boys on Holiday.

Happy 12th Birthday Joy!!!

Belated Happy Birthday, my Darling Joy!!! It was yesterday, but she does not know. She is happy and doing well - apart from some usual old age problems with her legs when getting up after a long lay down or after a long walk. When she is in a new place or the smells are nice, she is still pulling on her leash like a puppy!!! And she ist still…

Bragging

As novice handlers, we have only entered a few shows a year in Nova Scotia with our girls. They have only had competition once so they earn one point at a time against each other. We wanted to see how they matched up with some of the best in North America, so, in Aug. 2019 we drove from Nova Scotia to Ontario to participate in the Irish Setter National in Long Sault, Ontario. It was the first big show we have ever entered - and I mean BIG!!!! It was the first time we have travelled with the…
