Hi Kerstin, pleased you enjoyed it. I was a little unsure whether to post it being a dog lovers site but having just met her (she is very petite) .. with that obvious huge bond of trust they share, her incredible riding ability, hopefully it would be of interest to those of us who share a love of Irish Setters and horses or animals in general.

Dear Nardi, I am certain you will like Carlos. Too many humans take and take. Carlos considers the horse. My heart is with Arabians too.

I know. I trained one of my pure Arabian bred mares that I'd owned since she was 10 months and showed her in halter very successfully. With the help of a teacher guiding me, she went to her first show under saddle, never been been plaited or had a false tail and won a special class for all 4 yr olds (Snaffle Bit Maturity) then under another judge doing the pure bred mares classes, she won her age class, Champion Mare and with the 3 judges judging all the saddle classes, was unanimously…

I know. I trained one of my pure Arabian bred mares that I'd owned since she was 10 months and showed her in halter very successfully. With the help of a teacher guiding me, she went to her first show under saddle, never been been plaited or had a false tail and won a special class for all 4 yr olds (Snaffle Bit Maturity) then under another judge doing the pure bred mares classes, she won her age class, Champion Mare and with the 3 judges judging all the saddle classes, was unanimously awarded the 1988 National Arabian Stud Horse Show Supreme Saddle Horse of the Show. I forgot to mention that earlier that day she won the 4 yr old Halter class. She had started to tie up by the time of the Supreme Champion class and she didn't win because she was more educated than other Champions in the class, she just was forward moving, obviously wanting to please and just had that special aura about her. She went on to win major awards at other shows including in the hack ring with a prejudice against Arabians at that time. She was my heart and soul for 25 years until she got colic and I had to have her put down. I will miss her for the rest of my life and feel so priviledged to have been entrusted to take care of her all those years. We trained her in the French style where there is give and take on both sides, no getting angry (any problems in training working a different way to communicate so she'd understand what you wanted from her as their natures are like a loyal dog) or pushing too hard too fast as is the want of a lot of trainers who are too impatient for results which could have been a problem as she worked things out for herself eg didn't have to teach her flying change (in canter) she worked it out after a few times doing simple changes that she didn't need to go back to trot. I could write a book about Ralvon Nirvana.
Hi Nardi, if you like gentle…tag:irishsetters.ning.com,2011-11-15:865021:Comment:8446722011-11-15T05:32:06.622ZFinding_Beauhttp://irishsetters.ning.com/profile/HammerBeau

Hi Nardi, if you like gentle communication you might be interested in attending a clinic of Carlos Tabernaberri. He lives in Vict but travels throughout Australia. I went to one of his clinics as a fence sitter in 2006. He is the only trainer I have seen over the last 20 years I can relate to. A horse understands what you feel, what you say, everything about you. If you give your heart unconditionally to them, it is amazing the bond you will form with each other. Similar to an English…
