I wouldn't say that Rob, but she certainly adds a level of "class" to the portrait, doesn't she? : )     (ps and she's the prettiest Nanny Goat I've ever met!)  Please make sure she knows about your previous profile pic when she reads this!!!!  lol

Good morning Rob - yes that was a hard time in 2010.   Faith was over 12 and had been doing poorly for most of 2009.  She had the Degen. My.   Back legs just continued getting worse and worse until she just could not stand on her own.  Lost her sight toward the end of the year.  I did not think Faith would make Christmas 2009 took our holiday pictures in November.  But she did, continued to eat well and I continued to carry her where ever she needed to go.  Shanes passing was very much a surprise, he started coughing, Vet did x rays and found a mass.  Tried meds that night - day after I came from work he was crashed laying on the floor I let him go, the x rays showed the mass pushing on vital organs.  The day after Faith could not stand at all anymore, I would take her out stand her and she would go , our snow that year took a toll on everyone also.  So Shane & Faith (funny the first day Faith came, she "attacked Shane when he walked too closly to her and then in the end they were best of buds_) left a day apart - their ashes mingled together.   Similer in 2003 Tory in June and Devin end of July.  Sorry to read of your loss Rob.    Your dogs are GORGEOUS.  Esp love the picture of your two boys and the Frisbee.     Are you on Facebooks IRISH   SETTER LOVERS or one of the other Irish Setter groups?

Hi Rob.

Your avatar does look like mine but that photo is of my previous girl, Meaghan, when she was 11 years old.  However looking at your other photos I see ones that really make me think Meaghan, and others that are so Ruairi but really they are themselves.  Your dogs are very handsome Rob and I absolutely love the rollicking in the snow photos.

Ha ha.i just saw that Rob 'nervous breakdown' know how you feel i have a dog and a baby! lol. How are your boys different from one another ?. I remember in Baileys litter he was the first born and also the biggest-but he is also the Mardest!! He used to whimper if one of the other little puppies stepped on him! Even now at 18 months If he falls over(he's accident prone) or stands on a stone he comes limping over crying to mummy and i have to pick up all his paws or rub his sore leg and generally make a fuss of him then he goes off tail wagging happy as larry again. Its so sweet actually!

Quite similar to Bailey. He was from a litter of 5.Two males 3 femle.Bailey was the biggest and has a dark silky straight coat his brother was smaller and has a shade lighter wavy coat-he looked like a little lamb as a pup! Gorgeous.

Rob, how are you, Beth, and the boys doing? Have they been playing in snow? Dougal loves it, and we have more ice and snow coming! xx Merry Christmas Kim and Dougal

Rooker's turn now?! Poor Boy! Dougal has come down wrong on a leg a few times while playing ball or Frisbee and gimped around for a few minutes; just enough to frighten me!

Ohio is in the teens for a few days and then up to 60*f a few days later! We have ice and snow coming through right now. Dougal loves it but was getting snowballs in the pads of his feet, so we had to come in. I had to melt the balls in the bathroom sink, with his front paws and use a wet towel on his back feet.

Dougal is good when he's good; and bad when he's BAD! lol  His issues are a.)Counter surfing for food   b.) Barking incessantly when one of the other dogs has a toy that he wants...high pitched barking right at their ear!  c.) Going berserk when company comes

We haven't gotten the in ground fence yet....our house is for sale and we have an offer on 7acres with small equine facilities. So far, he stays pretty close to me, but our neighbors behind us have a Great Dane and a Doberman and if they're out then Dougal wants to race to their yard. I keep a long training lead on him, so that if I'm caught unawares I have at least a chance to grab him!

We're very excited for the OSU/Michigan St game tomorrow : )  We'll see if we can win the BIG 10 Championship

If we don't speak to you before, Have a Merry Christmas and I hope Rooker has a speedy recovery

Thank you very much. Before obtaining my puppy, I read everything I could get my hands on. Hearing a lot of negative comments about the breed; I prepared for the worst. He was put on a schedule, that I found online; and stuck to it. Although he is only 6 months old. He has been a pure pleasure to own! Thank you again!

Hi Rob,  It is strange how littermates can be so different sometimes. They must keep you busy! Gunner turned 6 months last Tuesday. He was born last August and was in the air conditioning at the breeders. When I brought him home in October, he was too young to take out without his shots. He didn't spend much time outside except to go potty. When he was old enough to go out, it had started to cool off. It does concern me that he needs a lot of exercise, and the high summer temperatures/humidity here. We will probably play inside a lot, and go for walks after sunset and before sunrise.

Hopefully, he can get enough exercise chasing the ball in the house during the day. When it is cooler out, we can go for long walks. He has already educated me to IS and water! We went to a public beach, where dogs are allowed; he loved the water and waves. A few days later he jumped into a small pond, that he never showed interest in before. What a shock he got, nothing like the beach; he sank in the muddy bottom and couldn't move. What a smelly mess he was. Now, I can laugh about it.

As a child, I grew up in New York State; I loved the snow, but not the cold temperatures. When I go there to visit the dogs always love to play in the snow. Skijoring sounds like a perfect sport to enjoy with your dogs.
