Welcome Claire!
Not having a setter yet, you could always add a few photos of the beautiful village of Cragg Vale!!! The name sounds so nice I'd love to see it:-))
I am sure that you will get a very nice dog, because as you say patience is a virtue, and it is good to wait for the 'rite' one to come to you...there are many puppies out there, and if you do your homework you will get the one for you....
All the best and good luck with your serch

Hi Claire, Just saw that you're new here. Welcome.
I'm sure you will enjoy it here even if you don't have a Setter of your own yet. That is something wonderful to look forward to.
Greetings from Melbourne Australia.

Welcome Claire,i hope you are enjoying this site, we don't live to far way from you in water, rossendale only about 1/2 hr away
Hi Claire Thanks for message yes the time really passes quickly. I remember seeing Reuben on Marita's site where I saw Ching. She has settled in really well with the rest of the family and is being a typical Irish setter.
Happy new year and hope you have lots of fun with Reuben am sure you will they are such characters

Hi Claire what lovely dogs you have they look a right bundle of fun. I too have one irish setter and have got bantam chickens. Unfortunately Mia my Irish girl does love to chase the poor chickens around. :)
Hi Claire, Great to be able to chat with you on here. I was reading one of your discussions where you said Reuben had a fettish for spoons. Well Monty is just the same. He's always pinching my teaspoon when I have a cup of tea! He never knocks the cup over but is very adept at removing the teaspoon off the saucer.
I did enjoy showing Monty at Crufts because he showed and moved well for the judge and I felt very proud of him. I must admit that I was very anxious before going in the ring with him, though! Just being there was an ambition fulfilled as I've never qualified a dog for Crufts before.
Reuben and Monty do seem to share a lot of similar behaviour traits. That habit of "giving a paw" at every opportunity and wanting attention all the time is typical of Monty's behaviour too! He's always getting up to mischief but he's such a lovable rogue, he knows I can't stay cross with him for long.
