Hi Dee
Jinney is now home and asleep on the settee. She's a bit confused why she can't go in the kitchen with the others but not complaining about being on the settee!! The bleeding has stopped and vet said he was conscious of keeping the costs down, but not worry as they now have a payment plan!!! Good grief, wish she had been insured now. She's on 8 small meals a day for now and painkillers and antibiotics. I don't exercise them an hour either way of meals, will have to put that upto two. I haven't been feeding her on a raised bowl either so I might start. Will just have to watch her now for ever.

Sorry, I didn't answer your last comments, I haven't informed her breeder I bought her from a lady who wasn't interested when I phoned to tell her after she had settled in well once I had bought her. I've had her 5 weeks. She was coming into season and my castrated Great Dane was pestering her but she was flirting with him, she wasn't in the least bit bothered. The only thing I can think of is her upset stomach 2 days before, should I have got her antibiotics for it? Did she get an infection in her stomach? Did I neglect her? My head is spinning. Any of my other dogs have been sick and then just got better. I honestly didn't think anything of it. My whole day is just thinking about what I could have done to prevent it and I want her home.

Hi Dee
She was susposed to come home at tea time but every time she stands up she is losing a lot of blood. After speaking to the vet I'm rather confused. He initially said that there was a lot of blood when he stitched her stomach back in place and that he left it there so that she could re-absorb it for the iron content but towards the end of the conversation he said that the blood needed to come out, so being polite I didn't question him. But after thinking about it, has she burst a blood vessel or ripped a vein? They are keeping her in another night and hopefully she can come home tomorrow.
There's a dog basket here with nobody in it and its breaking my heart.
Murphy had his final jab on 13th Oct and was chipped at the same time, he is now awaiting his 1st invitation to the puppy parties that they have at our vet practice to help socialize the babies.
I cant wait, I love a good party!! I somehow don't think there will be jelly & ice cream at this one.!!
Trying to get more pictures but this boy is a fast mover!! unlike the photographer!!
Hi Dee
Thank you very much for your thoughts and advice. The vet was much more positive this morning, Jinney has made it through the night and is looking better. They are going to try her with some food and if she keeps it down they are going to give her tiny amount every 45 minutes. If she does well, she can come home tonight. If she has had her stomach stitched in place does this mean she won't bloat again or will she still do it?
I'm going to be a nervous wreck for the rest of her life!
Hi Dee,
Thank you for your congratulation ! I think that you can see the video now.
Hope you and your girls are doing fine ! Did you keep a little girl or boy ???
Hope to see them at Crufts, I'm entry to LKA with Girly and of course at Crufts

Hi Dee
Jinney had a full 360' torsion, so has now had surgery to stitch it back in place but is not doing too well. They are keeping her in overnight and I've to ring in the morning. In your experience do they recover from such a bad twist? She was cold when I found her and thought she was going into shock, still managed to wag her tail though. It's going to be a long night, can't phone till 8.30 am tomorrow to see how she's doing.

Hi Dee, At last, I think I have worked out what to do on the site!!
Murphy is just great, settled in very well, I thought he might miss all his brothers & sisters
but he just bites me instead!! Hope your girls are doing fine.
Hi Dee
Just rushed my new bitch to the vets this morning with bloat, my husband gets up at 5am every morning, came upstairs and said there was something wrong with Jinney, whinning and tummy big so I rushed down stairs to find her salivating, blown up and crying so rushed her down to the vets who confirmed it was. Waiting for the vet to ring me.
Have you ever experienced bloat, in all my years with setters this is the first time. Poor Jinney was just starting to fit in with the others and play. I've always been so careful with their meals, exercise etc so don't know why she's done this.
Deborah
No Dee not really a special birthday ( and unfortunately not 21 either!) ....just a year older! My mum came at the last minute as she found a cheap flight to Stansted and my sister who lives in Kent was able to pick her up!
Hi Dee,
Thanks for yesterday! I had a great day with family ( my mother came over from France) and dogs of course! How are you getting on with your new boy?
Hi Dee...hope you are all keeping well....and your new boy is behaving himself...he will no doubt drive the girls insane eventually if he is anything like Lola!! We had a great holiday in Scotland...shame we didn't get up to see you..but distances were more than they seemed.....we had a great walk with Elaine and Bev and 4 of their eight irish...quite enough...six going mad in the forest..but they had a ball. We are itching to return...even contemplating moving up but undecided where....need to do more exploring!! Galloway was lovely, but a bit quiet for work., maybe. (hubby does property restoring) Anyway...best to you all....like everyone else..waiting to see some pics of your wee chap....and dying to hear what you have called him!!

Dillan is 17 months old now and maturing slowly (but nicely). I'll not show him for a while now as we only have intermediate and open and he is not ready for that kind of competition.
When will you show us pics of your boy???
