Hallo Nicole
Esther

Hi Nicole
Lovely photo's of Percy - he realy does look stunning.
We have just had a lovely walk in a new woods about a 10 minutes drive from us - just love taking my boys to new places and having fun with them.
Needless to say Alfie found a smelly puddle to swim in - blimey did he pong!! A bucket bath in the garden and he's looking and smelling like a different dog!!
Have fun

I have never looked into what was involved in importing a dog but had assumed it would be relatively quick like traveling with a pet passport. It seems I was wrong. Have been thinking about where I would get my next dog from. At present I cannot enter Toby in any competition as it would break the Rescue agreement and without his KC reg you cannot enter a proper Field Trial anyway. It has been suggested by a number of people including one from the Kennel club that there might be ways round this but I would risk alienating the GB club and I would not want to do that. In any case I don't think he will ever be fit enough to be competitive. His left hip is slowly getting worse. Each time I try something new it helps for a while. I have just put him through a course of Cartophen injections 4x £17 + vets fees so about £100 and I am not sure it has made a big difference. At the moment the hip has about 60% movement so he cannot really extend to run. A Hip replacement is £3,500-£4,000 at a place on the Wiral but they advise I attend their pain management clinic and they still think of the op as the last resort so I will have to see how it goes. Toby is still working for me but as far as FT's are concerned that will have to be with the next dog.

Thank you for the comment on my puppy-picture...tons of work at the moment with 11 different families visiting to look at "their" puppy...so I am almost counting the days until it will just be the one puppy that is supposed to stay here.

Hi Nicole,
Thanks for your comments. We're in Aberdeen (about 13 miles from the city centre). Thankfully, we live in a small community and most are dog owners.
Your Gordons look very handsome. Thought long and hard about another type of Setter after our Poppy passed but it had to be another Irish for us.

Hi Nicole
Congratulations on your new boy Percy and best of luck with him. The fun start here and I will look forward to hearing how you get on. What does Busby think of the interloper. He is looking great in your new pictures. Thought I was on the wrong page it has changed so much.

Hi - nice to be back
I work with Hearing Dogs and today i had just had a skinful of organising. I am at the Highland Show - so I was bunking off a bit!
I worked the Gordons a lot more when I lived in the Borders - dont trial at all - but my eleven year old now has late onset PRA and is almost blind.
Ove been concentrating on the IRWS in shows at the moment but I am trying to get a bunch of people together for a working day later this year.if you were interested
