Hello Alison,
thanks for your message, so pleased you have actually got the book! I bet you spent all night reading it...? It found the book a great help for my training classes and general recommendations for puppy buyers. I find the book explains clearly how behaviour problems crop up and what we can do against them - without resorting to unnecessary harshness.
Dog training can be hard work - but also great fun!
all the best
Susan
HI,
Lucy is my pups Mum, Jessie and Poppy the dogs in the photos.
Lucy and Shana (sisters) were homed together the same week you had Bailey.
I spend quite a lot of time over the kennels helping to groom my dogs with Dee as we show ours.
I thought Bailey was gorgeous and had lots of cuddles with him.
Hi Alison,
Welcome to the forum! Hope you'll have lots of fun here. I've just read your discussion and wish you lots of luck with your young boy... He looks quite cheeky in your photo ;-) Whereabouts in Scotland are you?
Many greetings from Edinburgh and looking forward to seeing lots more of photos of your boy :-)
Nicole
Oh yes - I see what you mean - total rogue and totally loveable!! But he's simply gorgeous too.
I have taken both my boys training to get them through the Kennel Club Good Citizens scheme - Harry has his Gold - and that WAS hard work - simply stuck at it and we got there in the end!! With Alfie - I thought it would be easier - but how wrong I am - he's much more stubborn and very strong willed - but we have loads of fun.
Hi Alison
Your comment on my page has made me laugh ;-)) Oh boy how do I answer you on how to tame the 'beast within' - they are all like that!! Just set the boundries and be consistent in your approach to everything he does and thinks - his eyes will tell you so much - just wait and see. It seems the beast can be tamed look at his eyes in your profile picture. I am sure you will have loads of fun with him and more importantly him with you.
Hi Alison
Welcome to this site! Your young boy might more of a handful but I am sure he will settle in quicker than you hope....and then you will love him more and more ....forever
