Thank you for your birthday wishes, yes I have had a nice day. Now relaxing with a glass of the "bubbly" stuff!! I know it's a bit early but hey ho!
Also thank you for your comments about Bailey's CC. Honestly you could have knocked me down with a feather when Lynne Dale walked across the ring and handed me the "ticket", silly me I didn't even really know what a ticket looked like apart from the fact that it is green and white! We have been up on cloud 9 ever since!
Our next show is LKA, are you going? I was only saying to Charlie the other day that we hadn't seen you at any shows for a while, he said that perhaps with your young family you were taking a break for a while.
Anyway must go now and feed the two and four legged darlings!!
- Jinty, a lady, well she had her moments!! she did enjoy the attention at the village Christmas fair collecting for charity, dressed in pink fairy wings and a tiara - all the kid's loved it especially the girls and even more so when I told them Jinty was a 'fairy dog mother!' - mad? yup I'm barking!! - sorry- close association with an Irish Setter can do this to you if your not careful!. What can I say I think Irish Setters are the only breed of dog that you can actually 'skip' down the road with. I am trying to set a better example to Rio - 4 months old,- will not be subjected to this sort of excess - however, - the headband antlers with bells on that I bought in 'Clair's accessories' and made Jinty a 'traffic stopper'! are still in the cupboard!.
Hi Tracie,
No I have not sold any pups near you....perhaps they were bred by Viv King ( I have had two of her dogs over the years...one sired by my first dog.Red Tamarisk Chamomile (. I absolutely adored him and he was quite successful in the ring too getting Res CC). I have not entered Setter and Pointer this year but am hoping to go to Midland Counties next Sunday!
Hi Tracie,
Thanks for asking me to be your friend...I don't know whether we have met met...over my years of showing....as you probably realize I am one of the few left with Sybil Lennox' s lines but my dogs are most and foremost family dogs....I could not see my life without my Irish around me and I am trying very hard to keep these lines going. ( We desperately need the diversity in the gene pool in the UK) Perhaps I will see you at a show soon!
Hi Tracie
Thank you so much for your birthday wishes. Yes I had a lovely day, we went to Chatsworth Park to see their annual sculpture exhibition and then had a lovely lunch. Sadly, this year, we weren't accompanied by our lovely Ginny who we lost in April but she was there in spirit, I'm sure. We did miss her company though. I am hoping to put some pics of her on the site very soon and also of her predecessor, Gemma. Two lovely girls who I miss desperately.
I have just had a look at your pics. What beautiful boys you have, all 4! We are missing having an Irish Setter in the house so much and are looking to welcome another one in to our home in the New Year. This time we are also considering a dog so at some stage soon I hope there will also be pictures of our new family member on the site.
Hi Tracie
Yep, I know exactly what yu mean by visiting the old walks with different setters. I have the same feeling whe out with my boys as my present one's have the most variety. My first one's were mainly on the lead dogs but as I got more then they became off the lead dogs now harry and Alfie are rarely on their leads!! How things have changed since having dogs around!! Pure bliss, so much fun too.
I have just seen your new photo's Findlay and Ronnie look so very similar and what lovely coats they both have.
It's a shame you are unable to get to more shows and see what the scene is like.
Catch you again soon, Barb
Hi Tracie
Lovely to hear from you. Both my boys are fine and full of life! Glad you enjoyed the photo's - it's a nice way to keep in touch with the show scene. Just pleased that the photo's came out as well as they did. The video was great fun and both my boys have fun on their walks. With the weather a bit cooler we should have some lovely autumn walks very soon.
How are you boys? bet they are looking handsome too. Where is your next show? We are at Richmond tomorrow.
Take care and catch you again soon, Barb
Hi there Tracie
Yes it is hard work but it is so rewarding to see them grow so nicely. They are all growing like weeds I think that it is going to be really difficult to choose, they are all so nice, but I am prejudiced about them. I think that they are all really good.

Hi Tracie!! Yes I still use the CSJ food for my setters and it is as good as the website claims!! It certainly suits my dogs anyway, especially Milo who always looked under nourished and had no body coat. He is still a slim dog but he looks very healthy, has a shiney coat and his body coat has improved and has darkened up a bit(he always looked as though he only had a pale undercoat!!) The girls look super on it and their coat growth has improved too! I feed them the Lamb and Rice(gluten and wheat free) variety! I like the fact that the food does not swell up so can be fed dry too! And the amount they need is less than other brands!;o) Hope this helps?

I have my doubts about this person, so I doubt that we will see photos, I agree with Jarno&Nemo ...
