Thank you Margaret, it was really exciting at the field trial, and you can imagine the feeling when the judge announced that Skadi got her 1.AK. Actually now she is qualified as "Elitehund" = Elite dog, meaning that she is recommended by the breed comittee for breeding. This is one level above "Avlshund" = Breed dog, which also is recommended, but not "as much" as the Elitehund. And this is by the standards of the Irish (red) setter club!
It is good to hear that we get two more IRWS to Norway from field trial lines, now lets hope the owners gets the best out of them in field trials :)
And please keep us informed on any good dogs "over there" with above average level of hunting desire and intensity, we are now searching for a dog for a possible mating with our bitch Skadi.
Hello Margaret ,
It was nice to meet up with you in Dublin at last , I took one or two nice pics of Sandy ( I thought he was lovely by the way )so will download them on to my page in the next few days I did put some on the I.R.&White website too.
Regards Chris
Hi Margaret
I think I am going to enjoy visiting this site regularly. Seeing so many beautiful setters with their loving owners is heartwarming. So many of the red and whites look like Maura and Chelsea, I hope to be able to Catch up with some of their offspring and learn of their achievements.
What have you been up to since we last met?
Hi Margaret
I tried to email you but never successful. Then came across this site and took the opportunity to make contact after all this time. We are all fine and Maura is doing well. I will put some photos and footage up for you to see shortly. How are you?
Tried to make contact with them around the time their litter was born and spoke to Angela. I gave them my details and she said they would like to meet me but they never got back to me. What with family problems I never chased it up. Shame really as it would have been nice to have a local contact in R&W who was also in Falconry but I didn't want do be pushy. As I understand it from what I was told last year they are moving away to live abroad in the near future.
Karen Lockwood asked me to come onto the IRWSC of GB Working SC last year so I will do my best to be of service and we will see where that takes me. Toby is always going to be limited by his HD so I don't no how far we can go. Peter seemed to think he had real potential if I could get past this but without KC reg I cannot compete anyway so maybe I will see if he can cope with Beating and Picking up and add that to his CV. Maybe I will have to wait for my next dog to progress further on the Pointing Dog side.

Hi Margret
Was hoping I might have the opportunity to organize a visit and meet you and your dogs while I was up on Peter's Novice Training week near Kelso with Toby. Unfortunately time and the weather beat me. I just made it up to Old Meldrum with a Family friend from Stirling and nearly didn't get back with the snow and the ice in Aberdeen. The Training week was great though and both me and Toby gained so much.
nice to here from you. Meg is a lovely puppy and i hope she does well for you. I have just took Lucy out for her walk and she is away to her bed. Bless. She is really good off lead and on lead but she does like motorbikes and cyclebikes so i am going to have to teach her not to run after them some how. I would send you some pictures but the weather here is bad and Lucy doesnt like going out in the rain very much so i will send you some photos when the weather is nicer which will probebly be after Christmas.

hello Margaret. I would like to congradulate you on your new puppy Meg. I hope she is doing well. Granaghburns Wild Flower Lady (Lucy) is getting on great. She is a very intelegent active young girl and is doing great on her training. How is Meg? Does she get on with the others? Lucy gets on great with Bruce and they are like really good friends. I love taking them long walks into the countryside but Lucy gets tired a little so i decide to carry her home. Well it was nice seeing meg again and i hope she becomes a great dog one day.

Thank you, Margaret. I think Wolfgang Stief was just as thrilled as I was, we felt it was a great day for the Irish! His bitch went really well, especially when paired with the pointer - no chance of photographs then, they were well out of photo shooting range...

But now its back to work, and she is running in field trials in Ireland handled by Marc Ruymbeke, who now co-owns Polly with me
