Well Mary, do you have any pictures to add. Where do you live in the States? Would love to have you as a friend and know more about you and your dogs.

Mary, My husband and I don't want our setters on the furniture but as my Molly got older she needed a softer bed. We had several dog pads for her but sometimes I would find her downstairs on a big black leather chair that we hardly ever use. It was comfortable for her to curl around in.
I'm so glad Rielly is working out. Blessings, Judi S.

Mary,
I may get to travel to see the puppies tomorrow, they live in Spokane and so it is about a 10 hour drive. I'm excited, the breeder recommends the adoption at 10 weeks. The puppies are 7 weeks old yesterday! So, I will have to return after Thanksgiving to bring a puppy home. I'm so glad Riley is working out! Almost makes me want more than one! But when I travel I try to take my dog with me and more than one animal makes it complicated!
Have a great week and if I get photos I'll post them!

Hi Mary,
It looks like I can't go now to see the puppies. I'm asking the breeder to pick the best puppy for me. I saw your new photos of Riley, your Shasha and Mahile. Thank you for sharing those! They look like pals.

Precious photos! I tried to take some photo's tonight on our deck, the light was not good. We had a wonderful sunset and temperatures in the 60's in Idaho. Annie is camping out in my tomato garden that will be planted within 2 weeks. She is in for a SHOCK! I have covers for my plants but I think I will be out in my pj's chasing her, hoping the neighbors can't see me. We shall see who wins me or Annie! I love tomatoes so the challenge is on!

Hi Mary, Riley & Sasha look a lovely pair. I now have an Irish & an English Setter, but we use to have Golden Retrievers when our kids were growing up. Our family dog was Tasha, an absolutely beautiful Golden girl who stayed with us for over 15 years. A beautiful and gentle breed and just wonderful with kids, as are our Setters. Your two look lovely together.

Thanks for sharing all of that Mary. You certainly have two 'beauties' now. Yes, I agree with you about the time flying by. We've actually had 3 Goldens, two we got when we were first married, (pre kids), they both lived for 12 years, then as I said, our lovely Tasha was with the kids all through their growing up years. We've had one other Irish also and she is the reason that I feel I can never be without an Irish Setter. Actually feel that way about the English Setter also. Both breeds are very special to us, as will always be the Golden Retriever.

Take care,
Lynn

Wow Mary, You posted some fabulous photos! Riley looks content and happy. I love the Irish photo with the green scarf and Irish button. Annie is sitting by the morning fire as I type, her hair is cut funny because she got into some burrs when she went hunting with my husband. Hopefully the hair on her ears will grow back.
Happy Holidays, Judi

Thank you for your nice comments. It so nice to hear those kind words.
Gordon was my big child...
I am thinking about taking a dog from shelter,I don´t care if it is Irish, English or Gordon setter. Before that I would like to improve my English. It is necessary for my future,my job and for my life with dogs.I love dogs and I can´t live without them. I very appreciate your decision to take a dog from shelter.
Many greetings to you and your nice friends form SLovakia.

The situation with rescue dogs is the same here in Slovakia. Vet care is very expensive so one must think about his/her pet very carefuly. My dogs were very ill, and I needed friends´help with them. When I have enough money to care about them I ´ll take a rescue dog. I still feel very exhausted because my Gordon suffered with HD dysplasia and many other diseases, so you can imagine how expensive the vet care was.
It is very intersting topic...

Hi Mary -- loved your pictures -- especially the third one where Riley is in the snow.
We have the "Bless Me I'm Irish" picture of Riley hanging on our fridge.
Riley and Sasha look to be great friends.
Your Riley looks a bit like our rescue boy, Quigley -- isn't it great how they make themselves to home and just enjoy everything -- sitting on the couch, curling up for a nap on a chair?
I don't know Riley's story but Quiggy was negelected, undernourished and 'thrown away' because he wouldn't hunt. His former owner's 'trash' became our treasure -- and what a treasure he is.
Give the kids ear rubs from us and have a Merry Christmas.
Hugs,
Patty and the boys

All of these red dogs do the same things..I would hate to have to pick my dog out in a crowd of red dogs. You have such beautiful pictures.

We lost Riley's sweet golden friend Miss Sasha kabasha in May, she was nearly eleven years and surgery to remove a malignant growth on her spleen was successful however she died suddenly due to throwing a clot. This has been very difficult for all of us and especially Riley.
Riley now has a new friend "Jumpin' Black Jack", a little long hair dachshund from the local humane shelter. Jack's adoption was in place before Sasha's passing, she had met him and all was going well with the three of them. Jack has not replaced Sasha as a play mate for Riley yet, but the two guys are doing well together.
