Hi Michelle

Welcome to the site.  Looking forward to seeing photos of your dogs.  Owned English settes for 28 years and never seen a lemon belton!

Best wishes

Deborah

Hi Michelle

They are lovely dogs.  He is very pale isn't he. Are they working strain? One of my Irish is half working strain, very intelligent indeed.  We have round door handles and a lock on the fridge!!

Hello Michele,

thank you for adding me to your friends.

A couple years ago I was proud owner of my "Mr  Dog"

(he was crossbreed: mother was  Irish setter+Slovak cuvac and father was  hovawart).

His name was Athos.Your dogs remind me him a little.

Have a nice Christmas time:)

If I were to have an English, (and that is what I first went to get, not an Irish) I would want an Orange Belton, I just think that they are wonderful...too late now...just too old to start in another breed....Dee and the gang

Hi there Michelle

Do you have a place in mind where you are going to get your 'Red' from???? your lemon boy looks lovely, I would hate to try and keep him clean...I took mine out for the first time for a long time, (weather been just too bad, and dangerous under foot), and was surprised that it was still thick snow/ice, mainly ice, so a walk that normally takes about half an hour to walk took 'me' one and a half...but the 'kids' just loved it, Fin, Saffy's son, was in and out of the burn, and he was absolutely soaking wet...and very dirty, as it was so very muddy...where the snow wasn't...

Good luck with your new baby, can't wait to see what he (???) looks like. All the best Dee and the gang

There were 13 in the litter, hence LOTR to get enough names! In addition to Gandal, Elrond and Strider, there were Galadrial, Tom Bombadil, Evenstar, Beruthial, Aragon, Arwen, Goldberry, and .... three others I can't remember. In the early days I had a couple of English Setters too but the Irish are my darlings.

You're talking to another crazed LOTR fan ;-) I even have a Tolkien dictionary - would you believe it!

That sounds great - I'm all up for it. Think you're the first other setter owner I've met who is also a LOTR fan! Unless everyone keeps quiet about it ;-)

Hi there thanks for the comments on the pictures of Jas and the babies. As for Jas bless her she had started to get old now...But the puppies, can you imagine how I felt when there was 15 of the little darlings, a houseful to say the least, unfortunately we lost one of the wee boys at two days old...but yes they are doing very well there are at least four + Fin here on ES and another on Facebook, (he is now a JW winner), so a really lucky litter.

Well unfortunately it wasn't Jasmine that had the puppies, it was Saffy, there is a picture of her on the blogs, Competition into how many puppies she was going to have, they were by CSection so it came as a shock all round...it was dreadful to find the wee mite gone...but the rest were big strapping babies, and a very even litter, Dad is on the site too, there were and ES litter....Mr Jingles....for me the best thing since sliced bread, perfect puppies and growing into wonderful Setters, but I am a tiny weeny bit predjudis...

The collars came from the Internet thanks to Nicole, and it really did make life easier, when you are bottle feeding every 4 hours for so many weeks, you need to be able to tell one from the other, and in the end, they are trained to collars from the word go, they never have that dreadful time trying to get them used to a collar, all the throwing themselves around and scratching at themselves....ha ha.

Saffy left a lot of it to me, she seemed to know that I would do most of the ''stuff'' involved with babies, she really did love the cleaning up after them though, after food. She loves her son and plays constantly with him...

Thanks for your comments on the photos.  Olive's teeth were far too sharp back then but luckily she's got adult teeth now and she tends to mainly keep them to herself!!

Hi there Michelle

I know that I had a Xbreed that had the most dreadful teeth, I was horrified when I noticed them...but the vet told me that dogs didn't feel teeth the way that we do, and perhaps he just didn't feel anything..I know that I was pleased to think that it didn't give Liuka any discomfort, I do hope that all goes well on the 16th....will be thinking of you both then...all the best Dee and the gang

Jas is doing really well, behaving like a puppy, posted some pictures, I need to get better with the camera though...;o))
