Hi Keith, i just read what you put about Cooper, passing aged 2 and how you bonded more because of the extra attention you gace him, i know exactually what you mean, last christmas i was told my 2year old boy Finlay had bone cancer in his leg and only had 6weeks left you can imagine my shock, well after x-rays and bone biopsys and other tests we decided as he seemed well not to amputate as vet said might only give him few more weeks, i'm pleased to say he's still with me and now all his fur and feathering has grown back he just looks like a normal healthy setter, but i keep my fingers crossed all the time he stays healthy.

Ellen, any chance that the cancer is in remission?  Very sad but I am glad to hear that he is getting a little better.  You can build up a very close bond with the little guys, especially when you are caring for them when they are sick. 

Hi Keith, i'm not sure whats going on, he had all the tests a year ago he was refered to a specialist who agreed with my vet, he suggested a wonder drug someone was working on my vet looked into it but he thought as Finlay seemed well and happy not to give him this as we wouldn't know how it would affect him i suppose it was like chemo could of made him ill, i had to change vet few months ago as old ones moved he was waiting for his notes to turn up as he couldn't belive how well he looked.Your right even though i've loved all my boys there is something special about Finlay we do have a special bond.

I really like to hear that he made improvement.  Perhaps a full recovery is in store for him and I definitely hope so.  I know how hard it is when these little guys are sick.  He's a beautiful setter by the way!
