Hi Henk, that's is the price we pay for agriculture modernization.Great, monocultural fields are not good environment for small game. Fortunately some paradises are still saved in southern part of Poland. By the way, I'd like to express my admiration for your commitment to preservation setter's original appearence and abilities.

Thanks for your comment Henk, but I must admit the picture of Dairine working was taken by an unknown photographer and sent to me... I do think it captures the atmosphere very well. Don't we all know (and even enjoy!) these days out in the rain...
all the best with your reds in the coming trials
Susan

Bedankt! Het leek mij wel een goed idee om de pagina te promoten.

Groet,

Henk ,I was interested to hear that the Swedish Dog you used had a line from Rua in his breeding. Was this via Rua Cappriccio or via the background of FT Ch Rua Connemara of Porschet mated to Astraby's Athos (owned by Per and Tina Henriksen (who have returned to Sweden to live).

Hi Henk, must say I just loved reading the article about Florence Nagle! I have the book 'Misson Accomplished' and this interview just adds respect for a very grand lady.
Why not put the article at more prominence as a forum post - more people may read it.

Henk, I agree the knowledge of the past helps understand the present. Goes for most things, not just dogs...
I admit I was impressed by Wim Wellens from NL who was judging in Switzerland last year. He had was allocated a trainee judge and was referring to 'Hartsbourne' and 'Wendover' type - to his surprise the trainee judge had no idea what he was talking about (ok, the trainee judge came from another pointing breed, but still you'd expect some interest..).
best regards

Hi Henk,
Thank you very much for posting a link to the Standard In Norway in the Open discussion! I found it most interesting as my dogs look very much like some of the photos (which is probably why they are not appreciated here in the UK)! Can I find a translation somewhere as my Norwegian is not up to much! I have now left the open discussion as some of the comments directed at me were abusive! Thanks again!

Thanks Henk. I think the article could be very interesting - but like Catherine I lack the language knowledge. Do you know if there was a translation done for the World Congress'?
best regards
Susan

Thanks Henk for the link.It would appear that it was a highly informative article it is a pity that i could not translate it despite trying to download various translation tools from the web.
I am pleased to say that i have never seen a field trial dog of the type depicted in the drawing of the field trial irish setter. Are there really some like that in Norway?
Why do people never seem to make reference to Swedish and Norwegian Dual Champion Nimbus? He looked a respectable dog from the few photos i have seen.He is a dog that should go down in history!

Thanks Henk! You are probably right, it was a Supersetterlife. Still sad when they have to go but the memories are here to stay.
