Thanks Jessica. Yes, the birds are great companions too. Every one has their own personality - just like the dogs do!

Hello Jessica!
Great to see your BC and Foxhound as well! So WHERE do you actually live?

Alaska sounds pretty cold all the time, but then perhaps its like Sweden...?! It does not look as if you are living in a constant world of snow and ice...
I am certainly showing my ignorance here. I know next to nothing about Alaska. Oil...I think...?
As for using other pictures...can be a tricky thing. I work as an illustrator/writer and there is the copyright-question.
I myself am never so tight on that, but I do know other illustrators/painters/photographers that are just waiting to send a bill.
Its always up to the artist how picky they are on the subject of copyright.

Hi Jessica, it's great to have a new friend in Alaska!
I have one over Ursula here, as I've actually visited your beautiful state and have wonderful memories of the countryside, the wildlife, the sea and the glaciers... The main similarity to Sweden I'd say are the mosquitoes!!!
Greetings from Switzerland,
Susan

Hi Jessica,
Welcome to the Group. Where do you live? Are you interested in Field Trials or are you getting your Irish for rough shooting?

We compete with the youngest ones. After they have achieved enough(what we think is enough for the particular dog) they start working for my husbands firm, which arranges hunting trips for clients who want to go hunting with excellent dogs ;-)
I´m more of a hunter but I like to compete as well...

Hi Jessica,
Here in Ireland, there is a big difference between "Show" & "Field Trial" dogs, just the same as everywhere else. I try to breed dogs who are physically and mentally sound, who meet the Irish Breed Standard, and who, given the opportunity, can work. I do not breed for Field Trials.
At the moment I only have my Irish Setters, no Red & Whites, but my lines are available through several other breders in the USA and Europe.
Regards,
Trudy

Ask anything you like and I try to answer.
In Finland we have three types of terrain in which one can compete with english pointing dogs, woods, field and high mountain.
classes in which a dog competes are selected by the dogs age. Youngdog class is up to 22 months, open class from 23months to eternity if the dog does not achieve the higest result,1st prize in open class, which enables the dog to start in winnerclass.
In Finland both the high mountain and field trials are competitions where dogs compete in pairs. Only wood trials are solo trials.

Hi Jessica,
Yes, I am hoping to have a litter next year. Sire Ardbraccan Limelight, dam Sh Ch Trawricka Cashmere Bel JW '04. I think, though that this mating might be too close to be mated back to one of Carmel's.
