Hi Cheryl, I'm so sorry to hear about your beautiful Spencer. It is so hard to lose such a wonderful friend. We lost our first Irish Skye, to gastic torsion over 8 years ago now, & I still feel very emotional & teary when I talk about her. She was only 5 and we will never forget her. Not only because she was our first Irish Setter, but because of her wonderful personality, her love of live, her crazy antics, her ability to always make us smile. We loved her to bits, as we do our two Setter girls we have now. These two are very quiet and calm girls & they are the world to us. We move on, but never forget.
Take care,
Lynn & girls in Oz.
Rest what is Rest, I think that the next 8 weeks will be the most hectic I have ever had, or it will feel that way 15 puppies 2 adults 1 granddaughter under 2 and another under 4 they will be coming in their white coats soon to take me away, can't go have a lot to do.....All the best and I am sorry...
Hehe I'm about ready to trade in my little "princess" after a very crotchety weekend! I don't get how come she's the one crying when I'm the one who hasn't slept in a month... Ah well.
Hi Cheryl
Abbi was about 7 months taken at same time as show win. her sister was best pup last sunday at The Scottish Ch Sh so am more than pleased with the both of them. Keep up the good wins with your boy.

Hi Cheryl,
Many thanks for your comments on my photos! I am lucky like you to live in the countryside and my dogs have daily access to paddocks and fields and they make the best use of them! Greetings from the South of England!

Liked the music on your site! I saw that your young dog, all down in Australia, are a relative to mine. Fun! Wish you all the best! Greetings from Sweden

hi Cheryl, happy that you liked my new pics. luckily the field is just 5 minutes by car from my place, so the girls can enjoy it every day. this is something really great as i live in a city with 2 millions of people :-)
take care

Thankyou Cheryl - that show was in 2005 though, when Nome was just under two years of age. Just going through photos to scan and put on view. Nice to have them out and about, rather than in the drawer!!
Jo has just been over here, and we both went to the Melbourne Royal. None of the English stock won, although Nome's son won a fourth for Marie. Interesting judging, because when Texiera judged here 16 years ago at our Royal, Fagan won Dog CC BOB and Best Exhibit in the Gundog Group (he loved him) and Thenjwe was Bitch CC - in the days when there were much bigger entries. However, last week, maybe a case of "When in Rome," because all of the American lines went up!
Hi Cheryl, it must run in the family....Finnegan is also cheeky and will answer back, also a great talker, and if you have been gone for more then ten minutes, he will tell you his whole life history on your return...LOL
Hi Cheryl, thanks for your sympathies. I sensed that there are more setter owners who have experienced similiar situations. Thankfully we were lucky. I am so sorry for your boy I know what it means losing a loyal companion. My old lady went over the rainbow bridge in May after 13,5 happy and joyful years. So I could not stand another tragic death this year. Greetings from Germany to Australia! Kerstin
Good evening Cheryl, thanks for your answer. I always thought that 'those things' do not happen to us because we have protected and trained our dogs for about 16 years as much as we could. But now we have a new generation of setter girls (1,5 years and 10 months) and everything has changed. So we have to cope with that new situation:-)
Are Irish Setters in Australia a rare breeding? Are Australians animal/dog-loving people? How could anyone run a dog over in your vast area? Love to talk to you in future:-)) Kerstin
Nice to hear your comments from Australia:)))
Thank you for your kind interest.
And yes, this photo "Maya is working" is one of my favorites...
