At 9:59pm on December 31, 2010, Vanessa L. Parrigin said…: Maggie is doing so well with the babies. She only had 8 and it has not been as hard on her as if it had been a litter of 12 or 13. We have not really had to do anything for the puppies. I am petting Maggie a lot. I carry her food and water to her. She loves to go outside and play but it is only for 3 or 4 minutes at a time. I have Murphy that is my stud. His mom and dad both were show dogs with the long flowing hair. Maggie is field type and Murphy is a show dog. I will not allow her to be bred for a year and a half or so. She is my baby. There are no Irish Setters around here our vet said. We are trying to bring back this wonderful breed. Maggie is from the Redland bloodline which were champions. I am keeping one of her girls for me. Going to name her after my daughters-in-law. Their middle names are Brooke and Lynn so she will be Brooklyn.

Meg and Murphy are now 9 months old and are the first Irish Setters Helen and I have had. They are a wonderful breed. Helen has had a chocolate labrator and I used to to have a Golden retriever.
