The IS Club, founded 1980 had some champions "von Royal" in the 80ties and 90ties and "Westmünsterland's" D- and P-litter, coming from the same irish bloodlines, but it is difficult to find through as this club is nearly totally in the hands of show-people now. wouldn't you like to come some time for autumn trials in Poland? This year we have international autumn trial quite near southern border of Poland so not very far from Hungary.

Hi Renata!
What a nice initiative! Thanks to you and the others who shared with us the info. Unfortunately there is not too much to say about Hungary regarding the past 10 years as for working Irishes.
As far as I know we have a few Hungarian dogs with Croatian working certificate and one with Hungarian hunting "license" (Glentarkie Robin of Skyrocket) - this last exam is necessary for all the dogs to partecipate on shootings. Said, but true that from the time I started going on trials (2002)…

Said, but true that from the time I started going on trials (2002) with my Andy I only see Laura who is doing her best to prove that her dogs are not only good looking but can also work. I also have to tell that we have only a few tests in Hungary, so not too many opportunities for dogs, organised by the pointer club, hungarian vizsla and german pointer club.
Hope things will change in a positive way soon!
Thanks again. Dear Renata Gennadi and Katar…tag:irishsetters.ning.com,2008-09-12:865021:Comment:962652008-09-12T08:39:49.570ZMichaelahttps://irishsetters.ning.com/profile/Michaela
Dear Renata Gennadi and Katariina: Thanks very much for sharing it. I hope there will come some more lists from other countries. It so great to see the pictures of working IS and it is very informative to reed the names and pedigrees.
The specialist for the german list is Christiane Lohmann - I hope she will write about it soon. I only know that there are some good trail and working champions in the pedigree of my dog Lohmann's Milan .. such as Lohmann's Dietze, Chantal vom…

I only know that there are some good trail and working champions in the pedigree of my dog Lohmann's Milan .. such as Lohmann's Dietze, Chantal vom Westmünsterland, Bodo vom Usenborn, Funny .. but I think Christiane is qualified much more than me to write about it.
I'm enjoying looking at the photographs of the dogs, also with their owners, and seeing that the irish setter can still hold his own as a hunting dog.

Looking at the finnish picture I wondered if Steve Fairhurst & the Ballynawns are still active in the breed after the untimely death of Minna Fairhurst?
