dog food: bait residues in game meat?tag:irishsetters.ning.com,2010-05-15:865021:Topic:3228072010-05-15T05:10:43.280Zricky younghttps://irishsetters.ning.com/profile/rickyyoung

Just wondering who feeds fresh meat to their dogs, especially kangaroo. It is supposed to be good, as these animals are wild, hence not pumped up with hormones and antibiotics. However, don't the pet meat abattoirs process road kill, which can be quite old and rotten?

Or how about residues such as the bait 1080, which by-the-way is laid out liberally in publicly accessible dog walking areas? Kangaroos may survive the bait and not necessarily die, but they may be poisoned, and…

Or how about residues such as the bait 1080, which by-the-way is laid out liberally in publicly accessible dog walking areas? Kangaroos may survive the bait and not necessarily die, but they may be poisoned, and our dogs eat their meat - yuk!

The same for wild goat - which is highly recommended by our vet, or, camel, or all the other meat that doesn't come from a farm.

We feed raw meat (beef, chicken, lamb, mutton, sometimes goat and kangaroo) plus vegetables, and our dogs are in perfect health.

But I do not easily trust what people say, be they "nutrition experts" or vets. Has anybody got some more trustworthy information about game meat?
Hello everyonetag:irishsetters.ning.com,2008-06-18:865021:Topic:764732008-06-18T07:12:44.874Zricky younghttps://irishsetters.ning.com/profile/rickyyoung
Hi it's nice to see we have ten members; it would be nice to share some information about our dogs and our countries.
My beautiful little Labrador Tara died on March 6 this year. She was 16 years old. I haven't felt much like participating in dog forums for a while.
We have a new boy now, somewhere in his mix there is Setter, as he setts the wallabies and possums we meet on our walks! There is German short-haired pointer and blue heeler and everyone comments on his Labrador like head. He is…

We have a new boy now, somewhere in his mix there is Setter, as he setts the wallabies and possums we meet on our walks! There is German short-haired pointer and blue heeler and everyone comments on his Labrador like head. He is nine months old .He is smart and obedient but he finds things to do before you relise they are naughty.
Cheers everyone, Vera
