I live in Hobart Tasmania. I am a widow with three adult children and a nine month old grandson who all live with me. I have a very old labrador named Tara, a cat of many names but she answers to Puss and a budgie called Meeko.
We lost our beautiful boy Conaign to spontaneous pneumo thorax in February this year.
Hi Vera,
we also had labradors before the Irish and still have both. I have a litter of labs at the moment which my Irish dog is fascinated by. I know a few people that have labs and irish, they seem to make a good mix.
Looking forward to the next part of the story.

Hi Vera
I'm sorry you lost your Conaign. I still cry, and will always cry for my English Setters, Bandit and Jessie, in Heaven. I have a soft spot for Irish too. There is a lovely Irish Setter whose name is Diaz. The first time I saw him at the dog park, he looked across at me and he just 'knew'. Within an instant, he raced over to me, planted his muddy paws on my shoulders, knocked me to the ground, and stood over me licking my face constantly. I laughed with delight. Diaz really made my day, but this is what Setters do.

Hi Vera,
I remember you (and Conaign) from another list, several years ago. I'm so sorry to hear about his loss. My old guy, JohnJoe is also gone now. It is certainly the worst part of owning (and loving) these dogs...... they never live long enough.

Sorry you have lost your boy Conaign - hopefully you will have a new squirrel-sqardon-leader again soon!
This site is great, uniting people from countries so far apart as Lapland and Tasmania. Pleased to meet you here!
