Profile Information:

How many Irish Setters do you have?
We currently have two Irish setters - Harvey, CH Calmarra Crimson and Clover and his son Danny, Calmarra Crimson Sky
How long have you owned Irish Setters?
10 years.
About Me:
I am president of the Irish Setter Club of MIlwaukee and a member of the Irish Setter Club of America. I am interested in conformation, rally, and will be returning to obedience classes this fall. I love the breed and will always have one beside me. My first Irish was a field setter named Joseph who was the most loving, gentle boy I have ever known. Sadly, he was afflicted with epilepsy and endured many serious other medical conditions. I think his frequent hospitalizations and seizure clusters brought us so close. I lost him just before his seventh birthday to internal bleeding.

We have a cottage on Legend Lake in northern Wisconsin. Danny and I were wading in the waters by Horseshoe Island this July.

That picture looks like you're having too much fun with your Irish " watergirl". What's your real name and will I see you at the National in 2008 in Arizona, USA?

    Hi Barb,
Nice to hear from you. I know many people who are surprised to find out that Alaska has these gorgeous summers with 75 - 80 temps!!! Don't let the flowers fool you, though. They were provided by the photographer, not naturally growing :) :)

    Barb,

I belong to the ISCM, but only as a supportive member as I live in Wausau. I remember Joseph from his picture in the newsletter and your articles. He was beautiful and so loved.

I have two setters...one bred by Joanne Schick..Calmarra line..age six..bottle fed and still nurses on blankets, and Anamacarra Sealed With A Kiss...bred by ISCM's Gail, Tami and John Jackson.

    Hello Barb,
Glad you like the photos of my Irish.
Winter here in Perth, with plenty of rain at last. Most of Australia has been in drought, and most of the States are on water restrictions.
Sunny today though, and my seven week babies are enjoying playing outside.
    Cheers,
    Myra.

Hey girl I am still trying to figure this one out. How do I put pictures here? Load them from where? I think someone is going to have to talk me through this one.
  • Kelly Maurer

You would think I would be able to understand this website a little better! Gosh! Lol

Anyways, the biggest problem that I have run into is the fact that I live in the boonies... I think the nearest Irish Setter club is three or four hours away :( I'm just trying to find any Kennel Club close enough to get to, haha.

Well thanks for the greetings, I love your pics!

I think I am going to have to have you talk me through this. I spent hours on this yesterday trying to figure out how to put up pictures, etc. Just call me super stupid, LOL

Thank you! Even if we bomb out, we'll have fun at the field trials. I'm slowly working Sunny, my 3 yr. old girl, getting her ready also for Open obedience. It's slow going as she can be stubborn.
  • Brad Porterfield

Thanks for the kind comments. You may have seen Nellie as she was out there in Aug for the specialties. She is back home (Armonk NY) sleeping on HER chair looking very cute. She has no idea that she's about to get her feathers washed:-)
  • Laura Kolbach
