About Me:: WW'03 EUVW'08 Ch C.I.E. Berboss Instant Coffee (1996-2010) - for me just Odin - was my first setter, she left me 2nd January 2010 after 13 years of friendship. Odin was my all and everything, my best friend in good and bad times. She taught me so much about canine intelligence and behaviour, about love and loyalty. She was purchased for being a normal dog but very soon I got bitten by the show bug. She was a real show girl and compensated my faults in the show ring :) It was her soft character and look-at-me attitude that charmed all people meeting her, friends, strangers and even judges. Thank you Odin for sharing your life with me!

After much thinking I decided to get another girl and doing some research, I ended up in Sweden. This is how Danka - MultiCh C.I.E. C.I.B. Copper's Music 'N' Paws' - came to live with us in 2005. And yes, she taught me new things about canine behaviour :) Through her I was able to get to know the naughty and the run-run-run side of the Irish Setter. She is referred to as 'crazy Danka' by the setter club, hm, does it say it all? So different from Odin, but oh so lovable as well. A real clown, adoring kids, loving dog shows and having so much fun in the fields. Having 13 champion titles and being the first setter to qualify in the field on a Hungarian field trial and gaining CIB by this. Very intelligent, observant and empathetic. Thanks Danka for being with me, love you girl!

And then Neita - Full CH Copper's Wine 'N' Roses HJCH RJCH - arrived. Still cannot decide if she has more angel or devil inside her. She is the sweetest, wants to be close to you all the time, would love to crawl under your skin if that would be possible. Everyone is in love with her because of her beauty and character - bet if I would give her away, people would want to give her back the day after :) She is the destroyer in the house, eats sofas and doors but when she looks at you with those eyes, you just can't be angry on her (for a longer time that is...). She is a big actress as well, pretending to be a real blond - was hard to realize that actually she has brains and a lot! Unbeaten in baby-puppy-junior classes, we look forward to challenges in adult classes. Neita is a talent in the fields as well, already managed to get a CQN just one year old. She backs from the first second on and does not point but sets like a real setter :-)

Pawsword Northern Song, little Zilou - the one I know from the first second on, being Danka's daughter. The one that unites all the positive virtues of Irish Setters without having a bad detail. She has only been shown in baby and puppy class because of big sister Neita. Zilou is getting better with every day and seems to develop into a copy-paste of Danka. The best character ever, the best working abilities. The girl that makes me smile with every move she makes. Love you so much, little girl!

Excellent!!! Many, many congratulations! That's a really nice result - especially since it seems to have been so tough. I'm very happy for you and Danka and hopefully Odin wasn't too lonely back home :-) Did you use the water and fertiliser on the coat in the end??? Hope you also managed to have a nice holiday in Sweden. We got some nice weather up here in Scotland but not as warm as on the continent - I usually prefer the hotter weather...

Good Morning, Laura.
Off home on Monday, but will go to Köping tomorrow,with Madde, and will see the Irish one more time.
Weather back home in Perth is abominable, so not much to look forward to in that department!
Have had a wonderful time in Sweden, as always. Could happily move here, or back to England - maybe one day.

True! but was very nice see the judge chose in 4 dogs from 3 different litters.
its always good wen someone with knowhow see and recognize the work i do with my breeding plans.
Anyway,in Portugal and Spain i'm very alone in Irish Setters (with some quality),so i have the responsability tho show for serving the breed.

Hi Laura, what types of cakes were the ones you made for the great dane birthday party? They look really nice. I made one last year for Busby's birthday but as he's on his own it wasn't as much fun for him to eat it all ;-) Think we should have a doggie cakes and biscuits recipe exchange group...

jaa, ich hab die Fotos inzwischen auch gesehen; mit so einem Erfolg in dem Alter (Nash wurde vorgestern erst ein Jahr alt) rechnet man nicht... Sind natürlich mega-happy und super stolz auf unseren "Yankee".

Ich wünsche Dir weiterhin soviel Erfolg mit Deinen wunderschönen Irish Settern, hab Dich ja schon ein paar Mal an den Shows gewinnen sehen :-))

Oh yes I know how you feel, I haven't been able to get a setter of mine past 10 and Jas is 7 now so am getting concerned, I just love her to bits, some are a wee bit more special than others, I think that even if they are 'gone' they will be with you for ever.....I would like to think so anyway. Sorry for late answer, hoped to see you and all in Stockholm but due some unexpected circumstances just let my plane tickets to waist. But I am sure we will meet once in the real on some dog-show. Late congratulations from our side (me and doggies) to 10 years birthday to Great Dane, cake looked very lovely and I frankly I was happy that doggies birthday will be celebrated all over the world. I can forget my own birthday but guests are always invited to the birthdays of my red once.

Wieso gehst du nicht nach Österreich dort sind im September wieder IFT`s - wir waren jetzt schon ein paar Mal dort, die Reviere sind klasse, die Richter waren bis dato auch immer OK - dass ein Setter nicht wie ein Pointer rasen kann ist logisch, war dort unten aber auch nie ein Problem und dort sind bekanntlich auch seeehr viele Pointer!

I think they are in the middle, not too mastiff and not too refined!! I don't show Oska he is just part of the family. He is very gentle with my puppy but no so with her mum!! He can get her whole head in his mouth.

Wenn Du meinst, ihr seid nicht so weit, dann würde ich es auch lassen - ganz klar!!!!
Das mit den Working Dogs... das würde mich per se nicht stören, wenn der Hund gut und schön ist, dann ist das doch besser als nur gut oder?
Aber wenn Du die Prüfung im Heimatland ablegen musst, hilft es eh nix, war ja nur ein Vorschlag meinerseits :-)

Maggie isn't the happiest dog in the world now;)
She is avoiding puppies whenever she can because she doesn't like to be touched by them.She is running away when she notice that one of them is coming to her and when she doesn't have a place to run she is turning her back on them;)
