I live on 17 acres, north of Mackay, Central Queensland, Australia with my husband, Paul and my two sons, Kelvin and Mitchell with our dogs, horses, cows, goats and chooks.

I have owned and loved UK Type Irish Setters since 1988 when I got my first male Irish from Mary Clarke and Norm Clarke from the Rhuboda Kennel in Brisbane, Queensland. I then also bought a female from Rhuboda and bred my first litter in 1992. Since then I have owned Irish Setters from the Kelliher, Brazenwinds, Linleymvorne and Nanyima Kennels. In 2010, I imported a lovely female puppy from the Millcroft Kennel in UK to restart my breeding program.

Currently I have:
Emby (Brazenwinds Maybe ET) 13yrs;
Clancy (Aust Ch. Nanyima City Clan TD) 3 yrs;
Bridget (Aust Ch. Millcroft Moon Dreamer imp UK) 2 yrs;

2010 In Memoriam:
Monty (Aus Ch. Kelliher Regal Red CD. ET) 11yrs 9mths - RIP 23/01/2010.

    Hi Cherrl, Sorry for the slow response, I was in Sweden all week. How fantastic. She's beautiful. I didn't realise that you were having Charley's sister, though June said that one of the girls was bound for Aus.
    Bridget looks so much like her mum Katie. We must keep in touch and watch them grow together.
    Have a wonderful weekend

    Jon.

    Hi Cheryl, I put a comment on the photo. It is from the maple family - Acer capillipes. Beautiful, isn't it!
  • Lois McCullough

    Hi Cheryl, thank you, you have some beautiful pics of your 'red' family. Our 2 legged family live in Turramurra NSW and although we do some travelling when we're over it's mostly spent around the Sydney area I think I've probably fallen in love with Sydney!! We got as far North as Brisbane a couple of years ago and as far south as Melbourne. This year we spent our time South & North of Sydney as well as sometime in Canberra. Hamilton and Micawber prefer it when we're here especially Micawber who at 1 year old (yesterday) is just a naughty adolescent we all want them to grow up and then miss their 'clowning' around.
  • Myra Thomas-Rhodes

    Many Thanks, Cheryl. Even sunny today too, so most enjoyable!
    How is that baby girl of yours?

    Hi Cheryl and Bridget,

    Charlie says hi back. Duster is now dust !!

    Charlie is a real kleptomaniac, nothing he likes better than to steal something and take it down the garden. Recent items include:
    cabbage, nans new while coat, Barbie dolls (he really loves those, but he's not so keen on Ken).

    Keeep in touch

    Cheers !
  • David McIlveen Wright

    Keegan is "American Grand Champion Greengate Buzz Lightyear" the other dog I imported semen from in the USA. He's number 2 Irish setter over there, I have 2 babies from him, Morgan and Kendra 10 months old. Maggie, from Jason is going well we got Best of Breed 3 days in a row at Albury a few weeks ago and Intermediate in group twice. They're all entered for the Melbourne Royal on Friday. We went to the National in Oconomowoc earlier this year Pat was't there. I just got back from the US last thursday I saw Keegan go best of breed both days at the Denver shows, over 2000 dogs entered.

  • Laura Kolbach

    thank you Cheryl for the comment on Neita. she is a little huggy bear - turning into a real devil in a second and chasing Zilou through the house, etc etc. but hey, isn't that what puppy life is about? ;-)
  • Laura Kolbach

    yes, it is Zilou I keep (yellow girl). after many sleepless nights i decided to keep her. was not thinking because she is ugly :-) but if and how i will be able to manage my life with three dogs. but 1. she IS beautiful and such a character, 2. also, it has been my dream for 14 years to have an own litter. so the only solution is to keep her. also, i don't plan to breed more (at least this is what i say at the moment), i was worrying all through the mating-pregnancy-birth-puppy stage-etc, lost 14 kilos, and started to look like a zombie. think i will stick to showing, field work and just loving them :-)
  • Marjolein Bogaard

    Thank you Cheryl! I am very happy with this result and hope that next year he will be Hungarian champion! Best wishes from Holland, Marjolein
  • Laura Kolbach

    thanks Cheryl! as i am a photo maniac, you can be sure to see lots of pics of the girls! just got home from a show, Neita was best bitch puppy and then also beat the puppy boy and got the best puppy title :-) happy! but it was freezing cold and an outside show!!!!!!!!!
  • Rosie Dudley

    Hello Cheryl, thanks for your kind comments on Dora's 15th, 5 months on from her birthday and she is still going fine. I lost Steve a few weeks ago and miss him such a lot, he was a very special boy, he would have been 14 in December. All the rest of the team are just great! Lovely to see you got your puppy! I hope you have lots of fun with her. Rosie
  • Rosie Dudley

    Hello again Cheryl, thanks for your interest in Steve, I have a homebred son of his, Fairuby Gary, and a daughter from Pat Aldridge in NZ, I will shortly be importing a grand daughter from The Netherlands, Marlland Ruby, bred by Wilma Schellings. She is out of a bitch bred by Diana van de Valk, Heaven on Earth of the Red Empire, who was sired by Steve. Both kennels have websites and are members of ES.

    I have uploaded a B/W head shot of Steve, taken when he was about 8, I need to go though photo's to scan others, will do this soon, I have also put up a natural shot of Gary. Rosie
