About Me:: Anton and Gina are our first Irish Setters. We live in Western Australia, where they live the good life on the beach and in their big backyard. In their spare time, they help us with the gardening. Big surprise, we still have some flower beds...

Update: Anton has become a handsome young man, who does as he is told. Gina is a pretty young lady and my sport companion. We love our jogs on the beach, spiced up with frisbee catching, ball games and training. Once a week we go to agility class. Like her brother Anton, Gina is a friendly, well mannered young dog.

Hi Ilona! Thanks for your reply about having 2 pups together! I feel you are doing very well with them! Enjoy being with them and doing things with them! Irish Setters like to be busy. They are much more intelligent than they get credit for and you can stretch that intelligence by training with them..Obviously your 2 babies are still very young so they will need a lot of rest too at the moment! Bin nicht so vertraut mit dem System, du koenntest mail doppelt kriegen.
Dein Vito sieht ja auch aus als koennte er kein Waesserchen trueben...

In westaustralien sind Red Setters gar nicht so bekannt. Wir haben durch Bekannte unsere Zuechterin kennen gelernt. Hier gibt es viele Vorurteile,so z. B. "Red Setters sind dumm und untrainierbar". Ich krieg da immer nen Hals und verteidige meine Kleinen. Der Witz ist, jedesmal wenn wir so jemanden treffen, setzen die zwei sich vor den hin und schauen ihn mit ihren unwiderstehlichen Augen an. Jeder schmilzt dahin - Na, wer ist hier bloed?

Im Moment trainieren wir die Kids zu Hause, einfach weil wir keinen geeigneten Klub finden. Gina soll mal mein "Running Mate" werden. Ich mache Lange Lauefe (15 - 20 km). Sie ist so sportlich, aber mit ihren Kindergelenken sollte sie noch nicht rennen. Na, sie liebt meine Joggingschuhe, das ist ein Start!
Anton ist eher ein Faulpelz, ist ja auch das Kid meines Partners, der auch nicht gerade sportlich ist...

Hi and Happy Newyear. Wow you're lucky they just slept. Egan was very stressed but about midnight when it's worst we went in to my room and and then he just got to sleep but when the biggest ones were he wasn't very confident of if he should sleep or trie to hide behind som boxes ;) but he was better than the first reaction was.

die einen vermissen den Schnee, ide anderen die Wärme. Seit November haben wir Schnee und Temperaturen bis -26°. Gerade heute habe ich wieder 1 Stunde Schnee geschaufelt :-( Aber, doch .. es ist wunderbar! Und die Jungs lieben es.
Nein, das die Zwei stubborn sind kann ich eigentlich nicht sagen.
Glenn ist eine Seele von Hund. Er hat als erster Setter die "Prevent a Bite" Zulassung bestanden. Ein Programm, das Hunde ausbildet die dann in Schulen und Kindergärten zur Vorbeugung von Bissunfällen arbeitet. Etwa gleichgesetzt mit Therapiehund. Zudem arbeiten wir viel im Hundesport. Begleithund und Sanitätshund. Er ist extrem ausgeglichen.
Jamie, mein kleiner wilder Wahnsinn ist eine absolute Sportskanone. Mit ihm absolvierte ich vor seinem zweiten Lebensjahr bereits erfolgreich mehrere Sport -Prüfungen. Er ist stürmisch und enthusiastisch, will immer arbeiten und gibt sich unglaublich Mühe, alles richtig zu machen.
Wohl wahr, die Zwei könnten nicht unterschiedlicher sein! Sehr spannend :-)) auch immer wieder für mich..

Hi Ilona, Was just looking at your photo's. Your two pups are just gorgeous. We also have 2 Setters, one Irish & one English. We got them as baby puppies together also and absolutely loved watching them grow up together. They are now just turned 7 and are the best of friends. Always have been. We went to pick up our Irish pup and their was a litter of English as well. Needless to say we thought about it for a couple of days, then home came my English girl. You will have lots of fun and I'm sure they just adore each other. We're from Oz also. We live in Melbourne.

Hi Ilona, I don't think it worked. I have now asked Gene for some help to see if he can fix the problem.

I have had my Brazenwinds dogs for many years as my old boy, Monty is 11 years old and my old girl, Emby turns 11 on 4 December, 2009. Can't remember how I found out about Sandy, but I think through a mutual friend or just seeing pics of her dogs in the show ring at that time.

Hi Ilona,

Thanks for your message. Yes, my Setters are from the same litter. It was not very easy to raise them, but my best friend helped me a lot and we did the training in different groups, so had them separated during the training. Like that it went quite well!
