    Hi there Jo Ann
I am starting to run down with the showing, well a little bit, I think that Jas will retire soon, although she really loves showing, her eyesight just lets her down now. And thank you for the congratulations. Sad to hear that you lost your boy in February, how many does that leave you with?? I am hoping to gain a ''few'' more in 5 weeks, Saffy my other girl, is I hope, pregnant, will have her scanned tomorrow, so fingers crossed there. Big responsibility looking after someone else's cats..hope to hear from you soon Dee and the girls
  • Dee Rance

    Hi there Jo Ann
It is nice to think that your Jillian will have a friend soon..I find that people always stop and talk to me, when I have my two out on walks, the main thing that is said is, ''We had one of these when I was a child'' it seems that everyone has had an Irish Setter, I just hope that people will still want one, as Saffy, my youngest will be having puppies in 5 weeks, I hope...
It is so nice to have someone to walk with, you can't go out and walk by yourself.
Good luck with your new ''baby'' I hope all goes well for them and you, lots of pictures when you have them, we all love the pictures. All the best Dee and the girls

    Hi there Jo Ann
I only have a picture of me with a big (huge) black hairy cat, no dogs, wasn't aloud a dog, always wanted a horse though, eventually got that in my late 40s but the dogs when I was first married, and haven't had a gap of not having one since, although after having lost all my lines with the Irish I then went and bought an Akita, had them for nearly 20 years but came back to my beloved Irish just before I lost my last Akita, and have never looked back since, had a few problems over the past few years but wouldn't be without them, this litter that I am now going to get, I have been waiting for many years for it...Speak soon Dee and the girls

    Hi Jo Ann!
Thank you for kind and comforting words about my old Viktor, and yes you are right, he is having a lovely time where he is now, without pain and sorrows. Nice to hear about your roots in Sweden, and if you some day have the possibilty so please visit, it is a lovely country I promise:-)
    All the best//Kristina
  • Kristina Brannlund Westin

Wow Jo Ann, thank you!!! Always dreamed to see the Golden Gate bridge...
Same for you, coming to Sweden, you can visit here. I live in the North area of Sweden so not close to Stockholm, but it is a very beautiful contry in this area. Coming in summer we have light all nights up here. If we go further up North, we can se the midnight sun who is shining all night:-))

I seemed to get all the animals in a short period of time, after I got married first the setter and then all the rest followed quiet shortly after, cats, horses, goats, cows, sheep and the list goes on. All I have left are my dogs. And I think that I will die with them...
All the best Dee and the girls
  • Dee Rance

Hi there Jo Ann the babies are due August 1st. I have managed to get a few bits soughed out today, so there is a little progress on my part.
I am not going to be buried, my kids know that all the dogs and myself should all be scattered on the mountains... to run free and together for eternity. Hopefully not for a long time yet though...I have a lot to do, and am running out of time...so have to cram a lot into a short space..
    Dee and the girls
  • Dee Rance

Ah well that is cats for you, sometimes ghosts, there but not seen.....Saffy has now got the most horrendous diarrhoea, it is really hot and sticky here, Saffy doesn't like the heat. So off to the vet again I think that I am paying to put the vets children through school...
Good luck with the other animals, what has your neighbour got in her yard???? All the best Dee and the girls
  • Dee Rance

Oh sounds like your home was in an Idyllic spot. but the million dollar homes must be better than a trailer park...it could have been worse....I am now on a housing estate, really hate it, I used to have nearly 16 acres and had sheep and cattle etc. I kept Dexter cattle and Texel sheep a couple of llama's a few ponies and dozens of hens and ducks (Muscovy) not all at the same time though....not enough land for that...
I have never stayed in the same place for more than 10 years at a time, itchy feet. if my dogs don't want me to be on the computer Saffy just sticks her foot on the key-board, I have a lap top...
Good luck with all your 'charges' Dee and the girls
  • Dee Rance

We have been to the beach today, the last time before the puppies arrive, it is too far and too hot and humid, to go with a heavily pregnant bitch that far..
We have Cockerpoo's and Labradoodles and any thing else that can be crossed with a poodle, and charge a dreadful amount of money in the proses, they are going for over £1000 when you can get a pedigree dog for half that amount. Its ridiculous, Mine have been sprawled out on the floor because it is cool there. All the best speak soon Dee and the girls
  • Dee Rance

Ah well I have to get the whelping box out of the garage, clean it off and put is somewhere safe, to let it air...I have got everything else ready now, I hope..
    Have a very happy holiday..
All the best Dee and the girls
  • Catherine Carter

    Hi Jo Ann,
Thank you for your comments on my photos. This site is so great for talking to people from all over the world. My daughter was in the USA for 4 years at college in Tennessee. She loved it and is trying to arrange at the moment to go back end of August to finish her master in environmental biology. very warm in the UK at the moment.....going to a show tomorrow in the Midlands , about 2 hours drive for me as I am in the South near the coast. Hear from you soon, regards,
  • Dee Rance

I have been helping my daughter to clean out her garage this morning and then did a bit to mine, can't get a car in there but there is a lot more space.. and got out the whelping box, it has been in the stables at my last house for over two years and now been in the garage for nearly 18 months so it is pretty grubby, my daughter brought her power washer over and gave it a spray, and now I've just sprayed it with bleach and will get some paint to give it a final clean tomorrow, and that I think is the end of the preparations except to put it in the bedroom ready for the babies, we have only got 4 weeks now, and she is getting very big...but still not eating, so hand feeding her from now on until she starts eating again, lets hope that she will, or it will be hand feeding until after the babies are born.
  • Dee Rance

My girl has always been a poor eater, have hand fed her for many years, My Scarlet would eat everything in sight too, it must be in the name, her pedigree name was Mafred Scarlet Lake, she was my second Irish, the first one that I had breed myself.
The power washer is only a little electric one, I am going to paint it today and then after it is aired out and the paint smell gone I will put a canopy over the top to make a nice cosy place for her, no doubt she will want to have them outside behind the bamboo this is where she is favouring at the moment...Hope you had a good 'holiday' and the fireworks didn't upset all the animals...All the best Dee and the girls
  • Jo Ann Haseltine

    Hi Dee!
Does the electric work well(Prowerful enough?) I am thinking of getting one.Sounds like your girl is going to have a nice whelping box.I walks all the dogs early and stayed inside. Fireworks are illegal in my area so I don't any unless I go to shore of the San Fransisco Bay then I can see professional display shot in middle of the Bay.I jjust enjoyed fireworks on TV this year since I had so many dogs to care for. Time to feed the troops. Jo Ann

    Hi Jo Ann,
Don't we live in a small world!!!! I am 5 miles from Romsey.....perhaps you stayed in a b & b in my village when you came over....but in the 80's I was still in Sussex then.
  • Sandra Zivanovic

Dear Jo Anne, it's pleasure to be Your friend. Regards. Sandra
  • Sandra Zivanovic

My brother is my handler, whole family is in it. I am a breeder who have to organize everything, I am harestyler for my dogs, bath them and everything else. And the most important I have a pleasure to finance all. At the shows I have no much to work, only to represent all on the best way. I have 33 years old and I have no children yet, my dogs are everything to me. Kisses to You and grandchildren from Serbia

    Hello Jo Ann,

    Happy Birthday to You;-)

And big kisses for your whiten red head. I love those oldies. My Bajka is only 13,5 now, but still very litttle white.

    Greetings from snowy Poland

  • Anna Kazimierowicz

Hi Jo Ann, that's great honour  to be your friend.

For me in ES the most interesting thing is to meet people who live with our reds for 30-50 years. I envy them that. But I'm very happy that one day during holiday on lake I met a person with beautiful and very charming Ruda. That was almost 14 years ago only. There is a lot of very nice and fine dogs but I couldn't imagine my life without reds.

Eight red guests - bravo!!! what a fun!!!

I remember my 9 boys and girls litter - total mess and hard days at home - but unforgetable.

I'm very sorry you lost your irish for bloat - terrible death, terrible moment for dog lover.

Kruszyna is quite fine now, she'll recover. Till spring, she'll run free...

    All the best in 2011!!!

    Ania with Bajka and Kruszyna
