Absolutely dedicated to the breed, along with English Setters.
Born in England, I moved to Australia as a child, and in my teens started importing Irish Setters from Wendover Kennels, and English Setters from Suntop Kennels. My latest Irish imports in 2004, 2009 and another in 2013 are all from the beautiful Copper's Kennel in Sweden.
I am a qualified Championship Judge for All Gundogs and the Non Sporting Group, and an Open Show Judge for all Toys, Terriers and Hounds.
My judging takes me all over the world, something I enjoy immensely.
thank you myra....we are so pleased with the little one. she is a bundle of energy. love your pic re butterfly chasing. you have a whole lot of beutiful. greeting from a cold and overcast jersey
Looking at the layer of dust and a basket full of ironing, that I leave at home on most Saturday mornings I think it would a very appropriate sign for my house!!!! Lovely photos.
Thanks Myra, for your comment on Clancy. Yes, he is maturing nicely.... typical Irish boy and taking his time! Next year, I think will be his year. chat soon, Cheryl
Thanks Myra.It will be a different Christmas for us this year but will be great to have new Delsanto babies. I hope there are some nice girls for my Christmas present!
Thank you, Myra! It's been a long time since I've been to Exclusively Setters and these warm greetings may be just what I needed to check in more often!
Thanks Myra. Your dogs are gorgeous. It's a great site - I'm checking out similarities to Millie on the photos. They are such a beautiful breed. We get loads of comments which are usually how beautiful she is or "you don't see many Irish setters these days". Best wishes Helen
hi,myra,I'm very happy to be your friend.I read your profile and I understand me(mariarosaria) and you have a whole life live with an irish nearby!!!I'm 41 and when I was only 2 years old my parents did'nt found me for a short time.they looked for me everywhere then they found me in dog's kennel with my bitch(an irish) and her puppies...now I'm a vet and I spent all my life with dogs...expecially mine!I'm not a judge like you are but I'm often in the ring with my dogs. I think you and me are very lucky persons becouse we leave with the most sweet ,lovely and faithfull friends in the world.
regards mariarosaria
Thank you Myra for your really lovely comments. Pene is a family pet who I suppose was pampered all through the years but who in her day also loved to go for long walks cross country to appreciate all the scents of the countryside. Now she is happy to curl up on the couch with our other dog who is 14 (a cross of sorts) and dream, while the younger ones (1 labrador and west highland) frolick about with our children.
I suppose I wanted to join this unique and great club to celebrate our setter who is so important to us and whom I know will not be with us for ever. It has brought me such joy to look at all your fabulous photos and I must post some of Pene as she sports her winter checked jacket!
It's so lovely to see children grow up with animals. Chiara visites us often and we enjoy it so much to see her with the dogs. She loves them really;-)
Thank you Myra on your comment. Yes, it is very hard to lose a best friend. But life must go on so I own a beautiful puppy now. He is a little devil :) and it is strange to have a baby in house again. We wish you a happy New Year.
P.S. We envy you on warm weather in this time of year :)
thanks Myra for the b-day wishes! off to sweden soooon, is there a better b-day present? though it was not meant to be it but i take it as THE big present :-) looking forward to see the pupppppies at camilla and eat her salmon :)
wishing you a happy happy new year and may more of your dreams come true!
Thank you Myra, enjoying the site already, so many friendly people and beautiful Irish Setters.....
I used to live in Perth, went on a holiday working Visa and ended up staying 2 years, loved Perth but missed my family too much to stay. It's such a lovely city with fabulous weather!!
I was in Perth from May 1996 to June 1998, have so many great memories and made amazing friends which I still see as they come to Scotland to visit their family, they are scottish and moved out in the late 80's!. I lived in Duncraig, South Perth and Subiaco. I worked in the Mount Hospital and for Telstra. Fab fab time. Would like to go back sometime in the future when my girl's are older.
Hi Myra, I go onto the site quite regularly but thought it was about time I signed up so that I join in the discussions. I will add some more photos, time permitting. Hard to believe the pups are twelve months old already and what a beautiful bunch they are. I will be working part time in March so hopefully Fergus and I can visit more often.
Thank you Myra, not really a happy time as we lost Ruby one of our Irish Setters on 25 October aged 11. Then two weeks later our oldest Irish Sham was diagnosed with epulis. She's 16 this year so not having any biopsies etc done just letting her enjoy herself and get spoilt. We adopted her aged 101/2 from Oldies Club and she's a real character. We had Ruby and Rosie from pups and thought Sham being the oldest would go first (not that we want her to of course) but we lost Rosie (English Setter) in Jan 2009 aged 9 and now Ruby.
We did adopt a English Setter called Grace in February 2010 aged 9 months old, you could see every bone in her body but she's now fattened up and a juvenile delinquent. And we still have our rescue Sheltie (Lindy) too, she's 13 in May. Think the old girls thought we'd gone mad when we adopted Grace, haha.
Thanks Myra, Your little Hattie is a little stunner too -as I saw in the puppy photos. Gay Bouterey took quite a shine to her! Gay has Fanta's sister Angel and we belong to the same obedience club. So good to see photos of the litter as they grow!
