About Me:
I love irish setters, they have the most beautiful natures. My youngest is the first irish setter ever to have a shunt in her liver. She was diagnosed with an interherpaptic shunt at 18 months of age. She is now 8 and doing well with special diet and management. I live in the Southern Highlands and I love my work, my home and my girls. Without my setters throughout my life I doubt that I would have gotten over all the difficulties I have encountered, their loyalty, their love and their happy disposition always puts a smile on my face and in my heart. My oldest girl is from Ch Brechins Bliss & Ch Eireannmada Mustafa and my youngest from Australian Champion Karnachan Irish Jet Set & Australian Champion Linleymvorne Lady In Red.

    hi Di
great to see u on the forum
  • ursula wilby

    Hello there Di!
Thank for making me your friend! Well I am allways impressed by anyone being relaxed in front of a camera...I just hate it! Somehow I always seem to be talking, eating or generally pulling a stupid face when I am being photographed...even worse when I try NOT to do any of the above!
Very interesting to visit your website, such a totally differant world to mine (but then on the other hand not, but writing for the kennelclub my models are normally four-legged).
But then that is the great thing about these world-wide sites, the fact that you get to "meet" all these differant people you would never normally be in contact with. And I have actually met up with some of them in real life too so that was great.
Boring weather here to day...raining and grey and I had left all the cushions out on the sun-bed. Serves me right I suppose :-)

Thanks for your kind comments - the pups are already 4 months now and a very funny shape... just like the one on your lap:-))

    Hi Di,
Your new profile photo is lovely. So nice to be relaxing and cuddling with an Irish. Your two girls look so sweet together in their photo's. I have two Setters, one Irish & one English and they are the light of my life. Got them together as baby puppies 6 years ago, and they've been inseperable ever since.
    Just love both breeds.
    Lynn from Melbourne, Aust.

    Hi Di--
Nice to hear from you. I totally agree that there is nothing better than to spend time with the dogs.....
Check out a pic I added of a rare 5 generation picture....When I realized that I had the 5 generations living, I just knew I needed to take a picture of the group. Some of this latest group were also part of the original 4 generation picture I took.
  • Mary Merlo

We have a few things in common, then. I have also visited AU....and hope to make it back in the not too distant future.
I have friends in Melbourne, and in NSW.

Hi Di, Have just realised that our girls are related. My Tess is an Eireanmada girl also. She is from Gr. Ch. Tullane Fiery Thyme and Eireanmada Exclusive. I have seen 'Mustufa' in many pedigrees of beautiful Irish dogs still today. Small world hey!!!!.
  • Lynn Spencer

Thankyou Di & 'gang' for my birthday wishes. A lovely surprise from my new found 'rallies'. My Mum bought me a new fluffy puppy, but my sister Megg kept stealing it and running off with it. She's such a boss. My Mum managed to get it off her and took my photo with me cuddling my new pup. I love it. I will get Mum to post a birthday pic. of me for you all to see.
Love to you and to my two new 'cousins'.

    Tess whose now 7. xxx

Thankyou so much for your lovely comment Di. It's in a large way due to you that we have Jazz at all.Hope you are all well. Belated wishes for a happy and prosperous new year. Love all the McGlynns.
  • Lynn Spencer

Hi Di, how are you??? Love your new profile pic. It's really lovely. Two beautiful girls relaxing together.
    Take care,
    Lynn, Megg & Tess. xx
  • Lynn Spencer

Thankyou Di. I appreciate your kind words very much.
The horror and devastation here is unbelieveable. So many have lost loved ones, their homes, all their possessions, their beloved animals, wild-life. It just goes on and on. The smell of smoke is everywhere. We are close but are safe. Live in a 'country-ish' area, but not in the country.
My girls, I'm sure, are wondering whatever is happening. They have never had so many cuddles.
    Thank again,
    Lynn & girls xx
  • Lynn Spencer

Hi Di, Haven't seen you here on group for awhile. Hope all is o.k.
Was just thinking about you so I thought I'd write. How are your girls doing?? Are you enjoying the cooler weather here now????
    Lynn, Tess & Megg.
  • Lynn Spencer

Thanks for writing back. I'm so sorry to hear that Di. What a terrible time you must have been having. No wonder you haven't been here for awhile. These dogs can be such a worry sometimes. Hopefully they have gotten it all and she will be fine. Thinking of you & your lovely girls and sending lots of 'get well wishes your way'.
    Lynn, Tess & Megg.
  • Michelle Webster

I love your profile photo and your others are also lovely. So sorry to hear about your youngest being so ill, it is always such a worry, we feel so helpless. But I was delighted to read that she is now 5 years old and doing very well, must be due to the love and care you've given her.
    Best wishes,
    Michelle

Amazing, what a lot we have in common! I loved teaching the little ones, they were always so enthusiatic, really wanted to learn and they came out with such funny things at times. When I retired my life altered completely and I now wonder how I found time to work! Having the boys and discovering the showing side of things has been so enjoyable and I have met so many wonderful like minded people all over the world. You will have noticed when you visited the site that I aim to add as many Irish Setters on there as possible, they don't have to be show setters either, I have many ordinary setters and rescued setters as well as the show setters. I would be more than happy to add your girls as well. I didn't realise that you were a model until I visited your site, expecting to see your girls! But I thought it very apt that you have Irish. I recently came across a quote "Irish Setters are the super models of the canine world.......all lithe limbs and glossy hair."
    Best wishes,
    Michelle

Di, I have just read your comments. I am so sorry for your tragic loss of Scarlett.  I see you have been through a terrible ordeal over the past 3 weeks with her surgery, recovery and now to lose her after all.

My deepest sympathy and thoughts for your loss of such a young girl.

Di, I am so very sorry to read this sad news. I know how much your heart is breaking for your beautiful Scarlett.  We also lost my English girl Megg last October.  I am still devastated.  Thinking of you & wishing I could be of some help.

    Hi Di

I hope your old girl is giving you lots of love and comfort,  They are so wonderful at these times.

Thankfully, the floods have passed us by this time.  So tragic for everyone west and south of us.

Sending hugs your way, Cheryl xx

    Hi Diane

My Linleymvorne boy, Fionn, is 5 years old, and my import girl, Aneira, is 15 months.  I have another bitch, Maia, who is 4, and we also have a Labrador, Zep, who is 6.

  • Krista Dennis

So very sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful girl Scarlett. Our deepest condolences are with you.

    Krista, Ruby and Rufus.

  • Leisa McDermott

Hi Di, just a wee note to say we're still thinking of you.  Hope you and your other girl are well?

    Hugs, Leisa x

  • Lois McCullough

So sorry to hear your other girl is not coping well after the loss of Scarlett. Hamilton (6 years) stopped eating after Wellington died and we decided he needed company but not a very young puppy, so we searched and found Micawber aged 10 months - new lease of life. Sheena was 13 years when she lost her companion and this time we found Dempsey to keep her company in her latter years she made it to 15 years. It is such a hard decision to make and so very sad for you, do hope it turns out well for you both.

    Thinking of you Lois xx

the pictures are of our current IS Molly. Molly was breed in Queensland and now is 14 months. My last and IS setter before that were from the same breeder in Sydney. Cherie the setter we lost last Feb was 9 years and had a brain tumur which came on very suddently. I was not going to get another but I saw an advertisement in our local paper for pups in Qld and Molly was flown down in April last year. She is a gem. I will look up her pedigree and let you know.
  • Eunice Marott

I read about the loss of Scarlett. I hope with time that it gets better but really we never get over the one we have lost. Take care
  • Eunice Marott

do you work in the CBD. I would love to catch up with you. I am on the northern beaches but a bus into the city is something I do regularly.

Have we not had enough of all these national crisis. I feel really upset I was there a few years ago and visited the catheral.

  • Eunice Marott

Avalon Beach. I would love you to meet Molly
