Two again. Darwin (17/10/2004) and Mac (born 1/6/11).
How long have you owned Irish Setters?
Since 1996
About Me:
My love story with Irish setters started in 1996 with the most wonderful IS ever - MC, a field trial with Monroad ancestors. I was so lucky to have this very special and clever boy!!! Unfortunately, I lost him in May 2010, a couple of days short before his 14th birthday.
In between, in January 2005 came very handsome Darwin, the sweetest nature possible, Irish born with Thendara gd-parents. Recently we had a new addition to the family, Mac (the holy terror), born the 1/6/2011 from Sumaric Mr. Jingles and Thendara Vanilla Ice.
Thank you Chantal for the birthday wishes had a lovely walk with the girls it was such a nice day then went shopping and managed to get them new rain coats cuddles to Darwin and Mac
Hi there Chantal...perhaps you need to get some shows to take him to just to get a rest....lol but Fin is a horror at the shows..until he goes into the ring. So nice to hear that you like the lovely Lana...she is so beautiful...just love her to bits and your wee boy is very pretty...you should be proud of him...his is going to do well for you..
Have fun...hope to meet you again soon love to all Dee and the kids
Thanks for the good wishes Chantal. Managed to capture a few photos of the little cuties today. They're getting really busy and so much fun already. We live in Mayo which means loads of open space and plenty of fresh air, not to mention the rain! Mum Ruby gets out every day for a couple of miles walk and really enjoys forgetting about her familial resposibilities for an hour or so. Til next time
On November my dogs will have a photoshooting so I hope to take many many lovely photos of our oldie Bohême. At the moment she enjoyes the sun sleeping outside in the garden;-)
Thank you for the birthday wishes! :) Obraz was so kind and played with me for 15 minutes and now is taking a nap and not paying any attention to me ;)
Thank you! Cassie is feeling rather fragile as we have just collected s red and white puppy ( 8 weeks old) who is playing with her toys, sitting in her bed and biting her tail/ears etc. She needs the cake to feel better!
Hi Chantal, Thank you for your comment about Hobson and Rose. Unfortunately it is not possible for Rose to get better but I am grateful she is still alive. I treasure every day I can care for Rose and hopefully Hobson will recover in the near future. I did not have this chance with Hammer.
Hi Chantal, thank you for your lovely comments about our Scarlet. Your Mac is nearly the same age as she is (18/05/11). I love the photo stories about your Mac, they are so funny.
Thanks Chantal we think his fear is based on people approaching him without giving him any calming signals all dogs upon approach give each other calming signals we have just read a book on this by Turid Rugaas called On Talking Terms With Dogs Calming Signals and it has made a staggering difference to our little pack.
That is great idea! We are planning round trip around Northern Ireland next summer, hopefuly. So we could meet somewhere on the nice beach and our red babies can become friends. Greeting from rainy Kilkenny
Thank you for all your lovely comments about my photos. I bought my digital camera just before Hammer arrived on 22 November 2006 so have taken lots of photos of all of them. I gave Jerry to Hammer on his 7th birthday. Hammer never aged in any way. The house is so quiet without him. No boxes being ripped apart, no toys being thrown in the air, no running through the house. I am really worried about both Hobson and Rose but grief takes time. Hobson used to walk with his head held high. Now he walks with his head held between his knees most of the time. It is so sad but they loved Hammer so much and they need time to get through their grief. This has nothing to do with the way I feel. As for Rose's health problems, I would not know where to start. I was trying to prepare myself that Rose may not be with us for long and then just after her birthday in February, Hammer started coughing up blood and Hobson's health fell apart. Even though I knew the complications of debarking was serious I did not expect Hammer to die. Neither did the vet specialists. The seizures Rose has suffered since Hammer died are not good to say the least particularly because of the symptoms she had prior to this. It is a miracle Rose is still alive, and I am grateful.
We nearly have Rosco's bloat problem under control. He still puffs out sometimes but it doesn't progress into bloat all of the time. The diet and reducing the stress is playing a major factor in keeping it under control. He's starting to put weight on and enjoy life more now. We can't cure it but we are able to manage it better now.
Hi thank you for the welcome,I have tried to send photos but being a techno idiot I could not get it to work I e mailed them but can't find them on the site.I don't know if it is because I have got an I pad and you need flash.I will try again
