Oh if it hadn't been for this particular dad there wouldn't have been any babies at all, he knows his trade. They are very pretty babies. Thanks for all the comments and will keep you informed and believe me there will be lots of pictures.

Hi Sue, I think everyone's brain was rained out by the time the BBQ came round...what a day! Glad that you liked the critique, your girl is very nice indeed, just loved her head & the fact that she had some forechest; so many setters have so little that they are like pointers in front! What a pity she did not get a write-up for her big win..soooo disappointing. My ex didn't do a write-up when he judged dogs @ Crufts a few years ago & I cannot tell you how many people have approached me to say how disappointed they were; I think some judges think they are doing the exhibitors a favour judging their dogs & forget that everyone has paid good money for the judges opinion so are entitled to know what that is. I try to make it a ruile to do mine as quickly as possible after a show, as after all until i have done this I haven't completed the job i was asked to do is the way i look at it. Thank you so much for allowing me the priviledge of going over her....best of luck for her future career.

  • Debbie Neale

well hello there. Lovely photos Sue - but my word, what a lot of time i'm spending looking at dogs on this site! It's bliss!!! xx
  • Dee Rance

    Hi there Sue
I do hope that you didn't mind me commenting on your pretty babies, I honestly don't normally do that, they are so alike though, they were so good, what place did you get with them??? and where are you next????. You probably told me on Sunday, think that I am going senile. Don't know about you but I found that particular show very relaxing, don't know why, and yes, got home safely by about 6 so really had a great day home on the same day so so rare, still haven't caught up with the sleep yet though.
Just love the picture of Riley, they all seem to lye like that, mine always seem to end up on their backs.
See you soon Dee and the gang

Hi Sue! I hope everything is well with you! I knew from Marco that you emailed a bit each other on facebook and you have seen some more recent pictures of Oberon:)

Everything is ok with us: just wish to let you know that yesterday Oberon had a little surgery to have his umbilical hernia fixed (it was not healed properly after the birth, so in the end we preferred to have it fixed for peace of mind) and, because he was asleep, we have taken the opportunity to have him hip scored. We will  wait  the result of the test and let you know (I think is good for you to have a record of the hips, in both cases, whether is a positive score or, hopefully not,  a less nice one..)   it will take a couple of weeks probably, finger crossed :)

all the best to all you!

    silvia

  • silvia

    Hi Sue

I hope is all well with you! Just to let you know that we had the hip certificate for Oberon, and he was scored 13:

    right: total 8, divided into:

    norberg angle 3

    subluxation 3

    cranial acetabular edge 2

    others: 0

    left: total 5, divided into

    norberg angle 1

    subluxation 2

    cranial acetabular edge 2

    others 0

so, it was very good, although not excellent, in particular the right one. On the other hand  we that knew both his parents were 12, so we didnt expect a 0/0 result, and still according to his vet is a very good score, well below the average! Just let us know your opinion and please let us know if you see any cause of concern (in  any case, we though is useful for you to have this information)

On a "related" issue... maybe at some point we wish to find a girlfriend for Oberon:) do you know what is the best channel to look for her? Is there a list in which we can advertise? we have no idea where to look at.

    thanks and all the best

    Silvia

    Happy Birthday Sue;o)
