How many Irish Setters do you have?
Two
How long have you owned Irish Setters?
Since 1988
About Me:
I work as a primary teacher here in Dublin. I am married and have three children.
My dream of owning an Irish Setter began when I was about seven and my Dad gave me a book called Big Red. However I was to wait some years to live that dream!!
I met Mae Trenwith in about 1986 and she helped make my dream a reality.
With Mae's help I got my first setter Holly, Silver Belle of Srathmead, in 1988 from Judi Frampton. She was out of Muharraq Paper Moon JW and Wendover Raffles. From Holly I subsequently had Joss (Glendruid Carroll), Jessie (Glendruid Heather) and Ben (Glendruid Rowan). I subsequently owned one male Irish Setter, Travis, Strathmead Hawkes Bay at Glendruid. He was out of Judi Frampton's beautiful bitch Country Belle of Wendover JW, 2RCC's (a daughter of the lovely Wendover Lorna) and GB Sh Ch Shenenagin Some Might Say It's Bardonhill JW. A puppy called Jodi - Millcroft Whispering Moon - joined us in 2012. Her mum was the lovely GB SH CH Millcroft Ballad of the Moon JW and her dad is the handsome GB SH CH Copper's Champagne on Ice at Aoibheanne JW. I am eternally grateful to June Walsh for this beautiful addition to our family. Jodi is a very special girl, what dreams are made of. She has been top Irisg Setter Bitch in Ireland for the last 5 years and won the coveted Annual Champion title in 2015 and 2019. She gained her Show Champion title at just 2 which was quickly followed by her International title. Qualifying in the field was extra special to get her the full Champion status. Only lightly shown under English Kennel Club rules and has 2 CCs and 3 Res CCs. Our latest addition is a lovely Scottish boy, Zac, Forfarian Mind Yer Manners. His mum is Jodi's half sister, the very elegant Nancy -GB SH CH Forfarian Hey Sexy Lady JW. Dad is the exciting youngster Teleri Summertime Blues Avec Alolfrana JW. Looking forward to more fun times ahead!

There is a lot of Wendover in Katies pedigree and not that far back either her great grand father was Wendover Laudable Lytton.

Thank you for your enthusiasm, Kay!
I see you started in setters with the help of Mae Trenwith. I greatly admired their Int. Ch. Timdon Xclusive Edition who also qualified in the field. Pity so few do so now...

thanks for inviting me to be your friend, that's very nice of you.

You live in Ireland:-) And one of your snowmen comes from Limerick!

"I sell the best brandy and sherry

    to make good customers merry.

    But at times their finances

    run short, as it chances

And then I feel very sad, very".

    Hi Kay

Rosco is still bloating on us, and has been on the steriods and immune surpress treatment for 2 weeks now. The vet wants to try another 2 weeks of treatment and see if it makes a difference. He's still on a bland diet of cooked potatoe and salmon. Hopefully we see some improvement soon :)
