After Misty's cancer surgery and laparoscopic spey in 2014 her coat changed and became much thicker. Because of my arthritic hands I had no chance in reducing the thickness with thinning scissors so I decided to clip her with a #7 blade from the top of her head down to her tail and along her sides. This has helped Misty cope much better with the heat and makes it easier for me to check her for ticks. This photo was taken at The University of Queensland veterinary hospital on a very hot day. I think Misty looks much better now being clipped because this accentuates her natural outline. Everywhere we go people come up to me to say how beautiful she is.
