Silvia hopefully you are stronger than me because the lost of my oldie was just unbearable, but you are right, it is good to know that he played until the last moment ... never thought that way, thanks for mentioning it  :-)

Chantal, mon amie, didn't i tell you he was wonderful during our last duel!  I cannot mend a broken heart, but i sincerely hope that your pain at losing him will change with time. Remember that you gave him a great life, one that was well lived and loved!

Thanks James, see, not sure what is wrong with me, got dogs all  my life but this one was completely different (I can hear you already .. of course, he was Irish  :-)  it still hurts me physically to think of him .... when he was alive I used to say to MC """ I am telling you boy, millions would love to have your life""" and now that he is away, I am sure I could have done more for him ...  you better duel me James, that I can think of something else otherwise I will turn masochiste ...  or do you think it is done already  :-)

Have a great weekend and big cuddles to Romeo

On guard then mon amie. In all honesty i think we look after them better than we look after ourselves, and rightly so considering what we get from them in return. I do not believe for one minute that you could have been better to him than you were. I do believe however that you miss him so much that you are looking for something to regret.  Only think of him in happy memories. And now of course you are giving two more of them a great life!  Romeo sends cuddles to soothe you.

A big thank you to Romeo  :-) you are right James, instead of questioning what cannot be changed anyway, I should only happy memories to come to my mind. Thanks James

chantal, i am definitely not stronger than you... is just that i still have to pass this unbearable situation.. and i am terrified by the fact it  will happen with oberon at some time:(

the old IS dog we cared till 2 years ago was "shared" with another friend; he was his dog, but he spent with us 1/2 of the year during his 14-16years old life... he was so wonderful, playing all the time and just with a little bit of grey in  the face; nobody believed he was so old, since he was jumping and playing all day long....and making our life so wonderful!!!  despite i only had the huge fortune to stay with him for 2-3 years before he passed away, still i cant stop crying seeing his pictures and memories... but he passed away in one night, just sleeping.. and he was playing with balls the evening before, no stop, at 16years old.. ONLY IS can do like that !! I think it was wonderful for him, and when I am thinking this way it is a griet relief.. still, I cant look at his pictures without tears and a big huge huge huge pain in the hearth that stops me breathing.... and, in the end, it was not "my dog", so I dont have 16 years memories with him, just 3 years,, our friend, his proper owner, is still crying and crying,, I cant really think about oberon leaving us, so I am really really understanding what you feel..

take care and be strong! you have the wonderful MAC (and the patient Darwin :)) and they will fill your hand and heart, i am sure.. we need to think about the fortune and priviledge we had to have such a friend in the life, and  not to the miss..i know is easy to speak and difficult to live with.. so i cant be able to add  more ... take care and big hug from us..
