Fionni won Best Intermediate in Group at last night's Australia Day show! Go Fionni!

What a late night too - we didn't get home until nearly 2am. It's very hard to ask a dog to hang around for general specials until after midnight, then expect them to be "on their game" in the ring. The general specials ring looked very weary! The week so far...

Well, it's been a big week for Fionni so far. First show of the year on Saturday. Then Monday night was his first retrieving lesson (well, first in two years...but I don't think the one training day he had in 2005 aged 15 weeks really counted...). He was a natural - although he did spend most of the session showing his suave manly moves to a rather lovely Flat-Coat Retriever bitch (for "suave manly moves" read "rolling around on his back and squealing like a girl"). LKC of WA 19 January 2008

Well, the first show for 2008 has been and gone. My two were the only two Irish entered. Fionn got Best of Breed, and Maisy was bitch CC. Fionn was definitely in "sulky setter" mode, and skulked his way around the ring until the last lap when Glenn pulled a handful of sausage out of his pocket and thrust it in Fionn's face. Oh, the joy! Oh, the rapture! The bloody dog wouldn't keep four feet on the ground after that...

First blog

As this is my first blog, I really planned to write something spectacular. However, it was just a normal, boring day for my doggies. Me and OH at work (yay - why the human race evolved to THAT as our existence beats me); a bit of a walk; a bit of a game, and the dogs can tick another boring day off their "my parents aren't lotto-winners yet and so we're still latchkey dogs" calendar.
