CRUFTS 2009 (for those not coming to the Show!)

Miss S.J. Lennox (Hartsbourne/Brackenfield)

It is a privilege to have known her and been able to spend many moments with her, also to have owned some of her stock and been able to breed from it. She shared a lot of her knowledge with me over the years. Sadly Miss Sybil Lennox (Hartsbourne/Brackenfield) who will be fondly remembered and respected by all of us in the breed, died yesterday(14th July) after a short illness aged 88.

Thank you very much for all your kind words. Anna leaves a big gap in our hearts and our house. She was so much part of our lives. She had never been ill. It was so unexpected and sudden. I don't know that it could be a tick-born disease, the vet mentioned auto-immune disease.....I will try to talk to her again next week to try to find out more about it.

I will go to Crufts tomorrow morning ( 5 am start from the house) with Brackenfield Flanagan (Peter) in veteran class. For those of you… Continue

With so much sadness

To you all,

It is with great sadness that I wanted to let you know that my bitch Brackenfield Forsythia (Anna) died earlier this week of suspected meningitis. She was rather unwell on Sunday afternoon and collapsed in a coma on arrival at the vet. Although my vet said it is rather rare I know of at least 2 if not 3 cases in Irish setters in the last year. A strain of meningitis respond to steroid treatment but sadly she did not. She was 8 years old and the dam of my puppies. She will be… Continue
