Irish Ch and Sh Ch, Ital and Int FTCh Pepperstown Polly

Italian and Int Field Trial Champion Pepperstown Polly has now added Irish Ch and Sh Ch titles to her name. She is entirely working and field trial bred, and had not been shown until this year. This summer she was entered in eight shows in Ireland, and won seven Green Stars. Now she is back to work and running in field trials in Ireland, handled by Marc Ruymbeke , who now co owns Polly with me.
Polly was trained in Italy by Carlo Sardone, and was placed five times in International field trials, winning CACITS in Poland and the Czech Republic. In the UK she was trained by Colin Organ

I would have liked to have seen Polly in the Partridge Trials in East Anglia and, I guess, so would several members of the IRWS Working Together Group, IF we had known that she was running... it's a very long way to go just on the off chance you might see an IRWS - were you there?. How did she do? Can you give us the results?
You dismiss interest in Polly's next litter in England... again how would anyone know about it? Polly is in Ireland and not seen in England... buying a puppy just because of the red titled names in the pedigree is not the soundest of reasons - specially when you don't see the dam and know nothing of the sire.
Now, can you explain the 'type that would not do well in the UK show ring' - where Polly won her class at Crufts? The 'complaint' is that the breed has many different types - type is not consistant - the dogs are not 'carbon copies' of each other. We are OK with that - as long as the dog complies with the breed standard, presents the balanced picture required of a sporting dog and is sound, differences in type are not overbearingly important. Perhaps Polly's type is more appreciated in Ireland because they see so very few IRWS in their show rings?

Big congratulations! I am so proud that I have one of her grandsons here with me - would be nice if she passed on some of her talents to my little boy! I have met Polly, and she is an absolutely lovely personality! I cross my fingers for the planned litter!

In the litter of Polly (10 puppies)there were only 3 girls. One I kept for working and in fact she is in trials, only one CACIT to finish her Int. Working championship and one CAC to finish her Italian Working Championship and she is only 3 years old. Of the other 2 girls it was a pity that none unfortunately really appealed to you, Margaret. In fact one was then sent to Greece (you put me in contact with their owners who had requested a puppy from your breeding for hunting purposes, and the other I kept till 5 months and then went to France...Had also beautiful boys (7)in that litter, 2 are in USA and 2 went in the north of Italy as shooting companions and 3 I kept as I had no requests. Finally last year I managed to place one next to where I live in a very nice house with a big garden and 2 other dogs (1 maremma dog and 1 cocker spaniel dog) and he is living a very happy life, and another I just gave 2 months ago to a family whose dalmatian old dog had died and wanted to change breed and wanted a grown up dog as it would have been easier for them.... The last dog Liam is still with me and he will stay. He is the one I bring to shows but already has his working trial certification and just sired...a very small but nice litter. I kept the dog...called Little Shane and I am very happy with him.Not easy in Italy to place IRWS, no matter what their lines are. This is why I have very few litters and not more than 1 every 2 or 3 years but have so many IRWS with me. I think I am the breeding kennel who has more IRWS dogs than bitches...:should run a survey on this.

Dear Margaret.
Congratulations with all the good results for Polly, both for you and Fiorella. I am happy to say that our dog is from your lines. Her parents are D. Goshawk and D. Highpoint, and I think that Polly is her Grand mother (?). We are very pleased with her, she has a lovely temper, a good nose, brilliant point instinct and she just won her first CK (Cacit quality) in a show last weekend! I would love to know more about her blood lines, and the skills that her grand parents and other family have.
