Thankyou Dee, good to hear back from you.
I awarded CC's in bitches at Bath Championship Show, surprisingly way back in 2004. I don't know where the time goes. Had a lovely time all round. Judging back in sweden shortly, but have decided not to fly in to the UK for all the Irish Setter celebrations, which is a shame. However, will go to the World Show and see the Club Championship Show.
Good Luck with your showing.
Hope to meet you someday.
Myra.
It will be the Stockholm Irish Setter Champ Show.
I have judged Irish Setters twice over there in my eleven judging appointments, but this time I will be judging dogs from the Non Sporting Group, including Danes, Sharpeis and others.
Hi Dee - Welcome to Exclusively Setters! I'm glad you contacted me. I,too, have a little difficulty with the computer thing, but am learning.
Will you be going to any or all of the Irish Setter celebrations in GB this year? I had fully intended to at least attempt to take one of my dogs to the Field Trial, but it was not to be. The whole schedule of events sounds like it will be fun!
Looking forward to hearing more from you on the list! Hug your pups for me!
Yes, I guess it must be that weekend again!
My very best wishes to you - hope to hear some good news!
Just wish I could be over there again to watch.
So near and yet so far - I would have seen you two years ago, without knowing! What a shame ES wasn't up and running then!
Hi Debbie,I am almost on top of the photo thing, just got to get enough time to get it set up correctly, that is easier said than done Saff, my Kirkavagh girl is at the moment rearranging my rugs, they are in a pile in the middle of the room, little treasure, I how have a show that is only 15 minutes away S.K.C. it is nice having something so close, and you get people staying with you for the show, always lived too far away. It may take a few days to get this photo thing done, am going to stay with my dad after I.S.B.C. for a few days, Speak soon Dee and the girls
Hello Dee!
Well that explains the teeth!
Although I am not so certain that I would like them (Lamas?) as a birthday-gift...on the other hand it certainly beats all the bunches of flowers and bottles of wine :-)
The wine would have been to deaden the thought that I was 1/2 a century old but not exactly used to drinking!!! though I have to say I was glad to get there (50 that is. I shouldn't have got past 40) so every year is a bonus. All the animals keep my busy if not young. unfortunately most are now in a sanctuary I felt that, at my age, I should be in some sought of civilization. Not exactly sure if that is the best place to be??? all the best Dee and the girls
My historyteacher told me that we "need to learn our history to understand our contemporary period". And I think it´s the same with the dogs.... But I agree with you, the irish setters have devopled very well. We have a wonderful breed dont we?
Hi Dee - I wanted to try and respond to your "straight coat" question. I do nothing special, but they are both former show dogs. I have seen their breeders/former owners prep them for shows a couple times. The only thing I can think of is that when they are drying their flags with a hair brush, they hook the hair in the brush at the bottom of the coat and blow dry their flags while using the brush to hold the coat straight as an arrow. It's almost like since it drys straight it stays straight. Hope that makes sense. If not, please let me know.
Nice to be your friend! I think all our dogs are able to hunt with the right conditions. Are your dogs your own breeding? I like their rich and red colour. Sometimes you setters with a yellow coat. I wish you a nice weekend!
You did very well, Dee, so Congratulations. Maybe I will come to watch Crufts next year!
Did you strike snow, as I believe some parts of England have had it quite deep?
Warm here, as it is going to rain later.

Hello Dee! Congratulations to your nice results! Well done. We dont have many "bigger" shows this time of year. Our exibitionseason starts in the beginning of may. I was sad to hear that you lost your lines.. When I was at crufts last year (and even this year) I saw a beautiful young male from Caispern. I would love to take him home, really nice. Have a nice day!
