Hello Ann,
How did I find you? I enquired a while ago about Irish R&W - a question concerning vWD. Somehow your maild address remained on my address list... and we did meet briefly at the international conference in Belgium.
btw Gene created this list for Irish Red but it seems to be opening up for all setter breeds. A couple of people (Carmen from Switzerland) even own R&W!
I see Ginger has already asked for your opinion - so I'm sure your expertise will be in demand:-))
Greetings from sunny Switzerland.
Hi Ann, was wondering if there was any way of tracing an American bred Irish Setter bitch that was taken to England in 1982? Her owners were an American Air Force Captain and his wife was British. They returned Stateside before the 12 months quarantine was up and left Charm at the quarantine boarding kennel. The wife wanted me to pay for her shipping back to the States which was about $1000 at that time. I didn't co-own the bitch and had already paid for her airfare over to the UK as a baby puppy. I declined, felt that she was their dog and their financial responsibility. She was AKC registered, out of an American sire, was also PRA genetically clear. I'd love to find out if Charm was ever registered with the UK KC and who she ended up living out her life with. Her American registered name was Rustwood's Charm, sire was Briarwood's Future Indeed and her dam was Robalee Jubilee of Rustwood. Charm was very dark mahogany at 4 months of age (last time I saw her before they left for the UK). I have no idea which of the two quarantine kennels she was boarded at but it would be one used mostly by the U.S. Air Force personnel. Is there any way someone could research the Irish Setter registry for me and let me know what ever happened to her? Thanks in advance, would love to hear any news about Charm that you can find.
Hello Ann. Yes I remember the show well, and I still have the paperwork you gave to me.
Certainly hope I will be over next year for the celebrations.Look forward to seeing you again.
Cheers,
Myra.
Ann the dog you see is a son out of Harry and Craigrua Goldie.
Harry is in Ierland registrated and also his offspring.
I will repeat this combination next year .

Hi Ann, hope you are keeping well & it sounds like you are still very busy with your work for the IRWS.

Hi Ann
Great to hear from you.Would love to meet up when you visit NZ again. My husband adores Red and Whites and we hope to own a couple in a few years. It will be a matter of re-introducing them to NZ as there are none being shown over here at all which is a real shame. At least I know where to come now for any much needed advice.Take care and hope to hear from you soon.It is that time of year when I really am home sick and miss the UK (CRUFTS).jO.xxx
Hi Joanne
I won't be visiting - I'll be staying!
Pleased to hear you'll maybe interested in IRWS - I'd do everything possible (or impossible) to help you get going ;o))
cheers
Ann

Hi Ann, yes will be at Crufts with 3 youngsters, for the 1st time Ellie (Sh Ch Delsanto Eleanor of Jennison) will not be there. She is now 10 years old & unfortunately has just been spayed as had a problem with her ovaries.
The photo of Dusty (Ellies brother) makes me proud to have bred such a lovely boy with that working instinct. Happy hunting Dusty... Not sure what you mean by "staying" in NZ. You aren't leaving us for good are you?
Catch up with the news at Crufts. regards Chris
