Sam rested either in our courtyard or on our verandah every day for about a year healing from his injuries. He knew he was safe here with me and my English Setters, Hobson, Rose and Hammer and my horses, Hallmark and Charlamayne. I used to sit with Sam as often as I could. Sam can walk normally now. His white faced heron mate has visited me and has thanked me for helping Sam.
