Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

As novice handlers, we have only entered a few shows a year in Nova Scotia with our girls. They have only had competition once so they earn one point at a time against each other. We wanted to see how they matched up with some of the best in North America, so, in Aug. 2019 we drove from Nova Scotia to Ontario to participate in the Irish Setter National in Long Sault, Ontario. It was the first big show we have ever entered - and I mean BIG!!!! It was the first time we have travelled with the dogs more than 3 hours from home (we took 3 days to go there & 4 days to return to try to make it as leisurely as possible) & it was the first time the dogs would enter the ring with a handler. We entered 2 All Breed Shows & 3 Specialties. Here are the results.

ALL BREED SHOWS:
Friday August 23 - Gwynnie 1st in class; Whimsy 3rd in class.
Saturday August 24 - Gwynnie 1st in class; Whimsy 3rd in class.

SPECIALTIES:
Irish Setter Club of Canada - Gwynnie 1st in Class; Whimsy 3rd in Class
Ottawa Valley All Setters Association - Gwynnie 2nd in Class; Whimsy 4th in Class
Ottawa Valley Pointer Dog Club - Gwynnie 1st in Class, Winners & Best of Winners for the maximum 5 points; Whimsy 3rd in Class

They proved to be very competitive against seasoned dogs and we are so proud of them!
