Hi Silvia, Ruby came from a bad situation of abandonment and neglect in the state of Mississippi.  She was left in a muddy pen with 7 or 8 other Irish Setters.  They had gotten out into the woods and luckily a neighbor poured food on the ground for them.  Fortunately he called the Irish Setter Club of America and they sent out Magnolia Setter Rescue.  Eventually all of the dogs were trapped and these two groups paid for all of their veterinary expenses (it was extremely expensive as all of the dogs had many problems).  This was about 2 and a half years ago and now the dogs live all over the USA in their new homes.  Ruby has come a very long way in building her confidence and is now a happy dog.  There is some information about this on this website for the ISCA.  http://www.irishsetterclub.org/r3.html I am sure it is other places as well

Thank you Torie and Silvia! No worries now though, I am happy to report that all the setters to my knowledge are in great shape.  Thanks for your concerns, I appreciate it
