Very gorgeous
Thank you Suzanne! :-) I see that you also have an Irish and an English Setter? How do they compare in your opinion? I'm glad that we can stay in touch as friends.
Well after I had 2 Irish, I said I could not go through the puppy damage of a 3rd so we got an English. Bear in mind that they live in the house and have a free run, but Saxon did more damage! My next one was another Irish and Finn was much better behaved but he did have his daddy home all the time with him! Saxon has had more health problems mainly related to allergies and Finn, who is nearly 5 years old, has not actually been ill at all, thankfully. I think all of my Irish have had more attitude and all think they are superior, Saxon does not have this. He is quite relaxed and is more true to heritage of sitting comfortably at the master's feet. Finn would not sit at your feet but on the back of the sofa so he has a better view!
Thank you so much Suzanne, this was so interesting to read! Irish Setters don't always get a good press in books evaluating the characters, temperaments etc. of various dog breeds, but my husband had been dreaming of getting an Irish Setter for a long time, and I'm definitely very much in love with my English Setter who was a handful too when he was younger, so I thought, I'd give it a go, especially as we recently moved to a house with a huge, fenced-in piece of land. Ideal really if it wasn't for various poisonous creepy crawlies which do worry me a bit ...
