Aww...he's darling Pat! Dougal has a wee white patch on his chest too. : )

What did you name him Pat?

Comment by Pat on March 28, 2013 at 8:12am

That little patch on his chest was called a wheat mark when I was young, but I haven't heard that expression in many years. His full name is Kinross Last Blue Moon. Dam is CH. Kinross Shalimar (Devin), sire is GCH Am & Can Ch Captiva Quitte Ou Double, don't know where they got that name but he is known as Eliot. Sherry Oke (Kinross) is mom's owner and still has a few pups left. This was Devin's last litter and she had 12 pups. If you know anyone that wants a new baby?

You are so right about the sleep thing but I got him a big nice crate a couple of days ago so he isn't tearing up everything he can in the middle of the night, or pouncing on the chihuahua. We ran hell for leather out of them in training class last night so I got the first decent nights sleep in weeks.

Absolutely gorgeous, my Irish boy has a white blaze on he's chest too :0) I was told recently that sometimes there can be tiny white marks on an Irish....it's called "shower of hail" please correct me if I'm wrong. I very well could be !!

Gorgeous Puppy,enjoy your new baby

Dianne, I like that "shower of hail", I have never seen an Irish with any but the little marks on the chest. The AKC says "Mahogany or rich chestnut red with no black. A small amount of white on chest, throat or toes, or a narrow centered streak on skull is not to be penalized." I love the "toes" bit, that would be so funny. Solid red and one white toe, you would always know that one was yours!

I'm so glad what I was told was right, thank you Pat. One of my girls has very small what marks on her face, hardly noticeable but very sweet. And yes you would definitely know your Irish if they had one white toe :0) Enjoy these lovely growing and bonding times Pat with you very handsome baby Irish. Dianne and Irish x
