You are so right Undine, I'm sure that's exactly what he was thinking! ;-)) Your Gordon and English Setter are both lovely! We used to own a Gordon Setter and an English Setter too. Now we still have our English Setter Lucas and have added a little Irish Setter lady named Molly. Where in Germany do you live? My father's family is from Bremen and I have a lot of family in North Germany.

Lucas is a very handsome man.  Think he knows it too.

Thank you Chantal and Lynn! Lucas is a very special English Setter as he was born completely deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in the other. So he can hear loud noises, but he cannot locate the sound which is why I've been even more nervous about him getting run over than I woud have been anyway ... I've never let him off the leash since we moved to Mexico nearly two years ago ... But now we've moved to a house with a huge fenced-in piece of land and as soon as the last holes are fixed, I'm looking forward to letting Lucas run freely again! Greetings, Eileen

Eileen your Lucas will then really appreciate the company of Molly. My first IS was loosing his hearing in his old age and consequently became very anxious as sometimes he saw before he could heard, and then he started to rely on Darwin ears as he knew that if anything happened Darwin will bark and he could still hear a bit of the barking, or Darwin will rush out and he will follow him. As a result, he became less anxious and Darwin was taking very seriously his role of care taker.

Yes, Chantal, that is why we had adopted Orlane the Gordon Setter too and it worked out very well. I also think that it's just a matter of time. If I think how much Molly has learnt and progressed since we bought her on 13th July, then I really must be patient and not worry too much. In time they will no doubt be best of friends. Greetings
