This is Riley's new friend. The Labradoodle.
Riley does bully her. They are both the same age.
The vet said she is going to be a very big dog.

Cassie is our new doggy.

We bought her to keep Riley company. He does bully her and sometimes she gives warnings.

Riley takes very little notice of her at all. At first he would back off for 5 seconds but now he backs off for a full 30 seconds. Our little baby Riley is a bully. They are getting better by the hour.

Cassie seems so laid back.

Hi Martina. You can get different sizes, small, medium and large.

Obviously a Standard Poodle with a large Labrador will usually produce a large puppy and a normal Poodle with an average Labrador will produce a medium puppy and a small poodle with a small Labrador will produce a small puppy. They can have different coats.

Cassie's father is possibly the largest Standard Poodle I have ever seen and her mother is quite a tall Labrador and too fat.

We bought her Saturday afternoon. She is 15 weeks old and we took her for a check up and to have her first jab. The vet checked her over and she has a clean bill of health. The vet said she is going to be a very large dog. I think we had a good idea she was going to be big. She had been living outside with the other pups and just brought in to the hallway at night. Her coat was a real mess and we gave her a quick bath the moment we got home.

She seems like a very good puppy and loves her cuddles and does not smell so bad now.

We bought her to keep Riley, (our beautiful baby Irish Setter) company.

He looks so small next to her, although he is a bit taller than her at the moment. Her paws are bigger than his.

Riley is a bully and will not leave her alone. He keeps jumping on her whilst nipping her. She gives him warnings from time to time, but he takes no notice and keeps on at her.

They are getting better every hour and do cuddle each other in that small bed.

It is Riley that starts almost every time, yet he looks so cute and innocent. I do feel a bit sorry for Cassie!

I think you could be right Sue.

I must say, she has been very good so far, but still early days.

Good combination though with our baby Riley looking very hadsome amd Cassie looking like an old worn out rug!

I do think Cassie will be easy to train and she may help Riley. As you know, Irish setters can go deaf when you call them back. We hope that Cassie will do as she is told and if we ever feel that it's safe to let them off the lead Riley will stick with her and copy her! They should come back together, we hope.

Sue. I feel I must try to be a little optimistic.

In six months time, they will become "The dynamic duo!"

Riley & Cassie will be the best behaved dogs in the world (yer right).

No facebook page for her. I don't want to spoil her as much as I have Riley.

My wife said she would like to have a go at agility with Riley, but not just yet. After getting Cassie, we both said that she would be very good at it. For some reason, she takes notice. After just three days, Cassie will sit and beg for a small treat. It looks like she could be a very fast learner and possibly, very obedient. Only time will tell.

She is very tolerant with Riley and although she gives warnings to him, she has not gone for the throat, yet.

When they are rolling about on the floor and the noise gets too much for us, a clap of the hands stops them and Cassie will just lay down and wait a few seconds for him to start again. She puts up with him well.

It sounds serious when they start, but it is only puppy play and no damage is done. They are both growling and snapping at each other and both have wagging tails.

That is very true. I hope she will be the boss as Riley needs one to keep him in line.

Even though I know how pups play, I still watch them constantly, just in case it does go too far.

As we have only had Cassie for three days, we don't know her yet and I could never forgive myself if she turned on my little baby Riley, not that I can see that happening. She is so gentle with everyone and is happy to curl up on anyones lap, if it is big enough! It will be interesting to see how they walk down the road together. We will not be able to take her out for three weeks as she has only had her first jab.

I must say, Riley is very good and walks along very well, without pulling like a train. He sometimes jumps up at me, but not often. He is a pleasure to take out on walks. Obviously he only has short walks at the moment, but plenty of them. As soon as I put my boots on, he starts wagging his tail as he knows what to expect. He did put his brakes on today when he noticed a girl walking her very cute Labrador puppy. He could not take his eyes off it. He is a different dog when we are out walking, so quiet and well behaved.

They are in bed now. We have always had a dog bed in our bedroom and one in the kitchen. We now have an extra quilt in the bedroom as they have not been in that bed together. Cassie started barking this morning as she could see her reflection in the wardrobe mirror doors.

Sue, please ignore what Riley says about Cassie on facebook, I think he does really like her even though she does look scruffy and he looks so handsome!

If you could have seen her before we gave her a quick bath, you would have steered well away from her. We do say she looks like an old rug. She has such a beautiful face and the most beautiful eyes. I am not good with a camera and it is quite hard to get a good picture of a black dog, Well it is for me.

I think she looks beautiful and smells better now. When we first see her, we were both disappointed with her looks because she was a mess, but looked healthy. It made us feel better when the vet gave her a check over and confirmed she is perfectly healthy. The sad thing is, we intend getting her done when she is old enough. We wanted another Irish Setter, but did not want fighting between two boys and did not want a surprise litter if we got a bitch. If we had got a bitch we would not have had it done as it could ruin it. This way we have two very different dogs and Riley has a playmate. Cassie is the only one that gets a bum deal, but it is for the best.

I think both my dogs are beautiful in different ways and both have forever homes, the best food and plenty of love. Lots of love is something all our animals are given. In our house, animals are treated much better than humans and that's the way it should be.

You say "When Riley is fully mature". I think that could be ten years or more from now!

After all, he is an Irish Setter.

Poor little Cassie, your brother is a bully!!!!! it takes two to tango and no doubt you will make sure he remembers what means playing  :-)  :-)  BTW you master is far too optimistic, one needs at least 2 years to have an Irish behaving nicely...  good luck  :-)  :-)
