Yes Cornelia, one of those grey things which have killed off all the red ones in this part of the country.  We have had some black one's appearing in this area.  I saw one, once, last year.  This one and Barkley can spot squirrels from quite some considerable distance Ellen.

It was Finlay spotting a squirrel the other week and him trying to chase while on lead that injured my back, it was jumping from branch to branch above his head just out of reach

Oh Ellen. I know that all too well. Two years ago Tallulah was on restricted exercise, spotted a squirrel and tore the tendons on my left hand. I was on the phone to my friend when it happened, and all she heard was "ARRRRRRRRRRRGH".  I had to have my hand xrayed because they thought it looked broken it was so swollen.  DaisyMae spotted a squirrel today on our way home after I have put her back on the lead. Fortunately I spotted it and was able to prepare for the lunge this time :-O
