Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
Thank you John! That's exactly what has been happening ... ;-) I think she must be about the same age as Molly and believe it or not, she's even faster, so the two of them are playing each day for several hours and I can say that Molly really has met her match ... :-) The good thing is that they're both very good at keeping close to me at all times, so I haven't had problems with them running away or being out of sight for too long. I also think she looks pretty ... like a Lab or Golden mixed with some sheepdog ... maybe?
She looks lovely, i'm sure she will love her new home with you, Molly and Lucas (",)
Hallo Fiona!
very nice!
Thank you so much Ellen, Barbara and David for welcoming our new family member! Please keep your fingers crossed for her tomorrow, unfortunately, the vet that did the sterilisation organised by the refuge (it is obligatory in Mexico to only let sterilised or castrated dogs be adopted as there is such an overpopulation of dogs ...) did a very bad job and it has to all be redone, the wound had not closed properly and was leaking today, luckily not before I got to the vet ... :-(
Oh, Congratulations Eileen. Fiona is just lovely. I'm sure both Lucas & Molly will love having a new sister to play with.
Thank you Lynn! She is indeed lovely and Molly has adopted her very well and plays with her as if she had known her all her life :-)
Congatulations on your new playmate Fiona for Molly, she does look like their is signs of sheepdog in her pretty face, hope the surgrey is sucessful and shes back on her feet soon.
Thank you so much Karen! Yes, the surgery was successful, but it was a very delicate operation as they had really operated her very badly in Morelia from where we adopted her ... It had all gotten infected, the wound hadn't properly closed at all and my vet is not even sure if she really was sterilised ... He said he couldn't open everything up to have a look. Now she has to take strong antibiotics and mustn't jump, run or play around with Molly ... God knows how I will do this as both dogs love to play together. The vet said she must have been in a lot of pain, but she showed absolutely no signs, so that's good to know but doesn't make looking after her any easier. Thank you for your kind wishes! Eileen xxx
