Abbie was 8 last month, yes she did get presents but if she cann`t eat it she donn`t want it, then its gone before you get the camera. I posted this picture as she looks so old, and if someone else has a dog who also looks old before their time they will know they are not alone.

Yes, I have a girl who is coming up 9, who looks like a 12 or 13 year old. Her breeder thought she had bred the early greying out of her lines, but unfortunately not. However, my girl doesn't act like an old dog, she was out chasing squirrels yesterday and had 3 chases :)

Angela I would say looking grey (for me) is not the most relevant criteria as long as Abbie is acting her age, being healthy and having fun. However, this picture of Abbie is not most flattering, does she always has red eyes?

Oh, Happy Birthday Abbie.  I also have an 'oldie'.  My beautiful Tess is 10.5 years & is as beautiful today as the day we bought her home.  Yes, she is greying & beginning to show her age, but she is always the Princess.  Has a 7 month old English Setter sister who keeps her young (lol).

Thanks for all your posts, Abbie was left with red eyes ( droopy ) after a major strock at 2 1/2. Abbie`s story is a long one and I shall blog her story soon ( when I have a few hours to spare).

Hi Angela, did you ever manage to write your girls story or did the girls keep you too busy...? All the best and greetings from Switzerland, C & Joy

Angela, I lost a Beagle to epilepsy and bloat. It was horrible. I'm glad Abbie 's going strong :)
